Ealy visit?

PS. What many folks don't realize is not paying state income tax is huge. If money is even close he will sign here because he won't be paying a rate of at least 6.85 percent to the state of New York. If he got a million dollar signing bonus, NY state would be taking him at 8.82 percent. That's a boat load of coin.

Yea but, you forget the nightlife in NYC. That trumps a no tax state like Texas every time to these young guys.

Ealy was cut by Carolina and New England before the Jets took him in. Not sure he'll blossom in Dallas but he's worth a try. A rotational piece, perhaps? To be fair, he was playing for a 3-4 team with the Jets and did better -- would he be a good fit with the C'boys and their 4-3? Maybe we'll see. ;)

It seems to me like Ealy is someone that Marinelli sees potential in. And has since he was drafted.

Apparently, Ealy would have been Dallas' pick that year if they hadn't traded up for Demarcus Lawrence. And the Cowboys also put in a claim for him when the Patriots waived him last year so they still had interest. And now, with this free agent visit, it's clear that interest still exists.

At this point, it seems a matter of making a good impression during the visit and working out a contract. My bet would be that Marinelli sees some traits in Ealy that he thinks he can develop.

There look to be some similarities between this situation and the Damontre Moore signing last year. That one didn't work out, but hopefully this one will.

Remember a Cowboys receiver who wore number 88 who recently got into the Hall of Fame? He had zero problem finding night life in Dallas. Things haven't changed since Irvin's days. Money be money. Might be different now that Ealy has a few years under his belt and some of that night life stuff may not be too important to him.

AMEN and this is coming from a California resident

Uh Dallas has a pretty awesome nightlife too....

Well, I hear Stephen offered him 10 coupons for Chicken Wings and 10 coupons for Dak's Taco Bueno tacos. He decided to
party hearty in NYC. He said no way he's coming to "fly over" country.

Nightlife in NYC is only good because it actually has no go home time.

Texas also has one of the highest property tax rate which offsets no state income tax.
I've never seen anyone sign with a Texas team that based their decision on no state income tax.

Do we really need another DE? I hope this signing would be a vet minimum with no signing bonus. DT/LB or safety is what I want to see.

Do you really think the Cowboys would pay him that much?
no. Ealy will be a one year deal with a team option for year 2. ON THE CHEAP. I actually like the fit. He wont be expected to start, but to be a rotational piece.
