News: Earl Thomas may not play?

I still would bet the trade doesn’t happen. It’s all conjecture and nothing to indicate that he’s going to be traded to us.

You think Seattle is going to just ride out the season with Thomas, put up a 5-11 record, and let him leave for nothing?

That’s in fact *exactly* what happens with most pending free agents. They play to the completion of their contract and move on.

After this season Seattle makes zero sense for Earl, and Earl makes zero sense for Seattle.

In case of a rebuilding team there may be a fire-sale of assets that can be moved. But the only trade value is in the itemized games remaining on the schedule.

Oh, my, word.

I would take Wilson over Dak in a nanosecond. Dallas would be instantly legitimate. Wilson isn't a top 5 guy, but he's worlds better than Dak. He just has no protection, and no help whatsoever.
We are talking from here forward.... not the past

I wouldn't trade Dak for Wilson....better may have been a stretch but equal, younger, room to improve and cheaper

At this point I just want this done one way or another. Just don’t give up the farm to get him.

the comp pick to Seattle, if he is not traded, is not guaranteed to be a 3rd, there's a formula, and it could end up a 4th instead. its based on playing time, performance, salary, and honors such as pro bowl.

if he's using the "playing time" string to pull as leverage, then that's a pretty slick move. he could threaten to lower his comp pick formula score by sitting out games.

wow ok this could all be a stretch. but it does lower his price if it works. which makes deals happen.

Along with the hopes of improving a chance at the postseason?

Dallas has all of their eggs in Dak's cheap basket right now. They have to act now.

Dak is better and cheaper than Wilson

Pete Carroll: “You ready to have a big day against Dallas, Earl?”

ET: “Dunno, coach...those Cowboys receivers look pretty fast. I’d hate to have a couple of ‘em beat me long, one-on-one...know what I mean?”

PC: “Well...ur-uh...gee, lemme think this over...”
"And the Cowboys win 21-14 after Earl Thomas tried to tackle Cole Beasley, was trucked, and beasley managed to scamper for another 40 yards untouched.

Earl Thomas is the same age as Wilson and wants paid. That you'd rather go that route for a safety than a QB is comical.

Try again, "capologist". :muttley:

What a loser. I swear, the more I hear about this guy the less I like him. So now he may be personally screwing over his teammates, sounds like a great guy. I’ll be curious to hear what the reasoning is but I’m almost to the point where I wouldn’t want him regardless. We’re doing fine without him.

You're probably on the side that said we did just fine with Romo too right?
