Early 2010 Week 1 Cowboys-Commanders Line

Sorry if already posted, heard this on ESPN radio this morning.

Cowboys open as a 4 pt. favorite on the road over the Commanders.

Over/under is 44.

This is the 1 write up I found:

" Dallas (-4, 44) over WASHINGTON

This to me is the most “public” line of the opening week. Dallas is in a difficult spot here taking on a re-energized Washington team with new head coach Mike Shanahan making the decisions and Donovan McNabb executing the offense. Of course, the Cowboys have become known for their fast starts and odds-makers are probably bracing for that, hoping to see some even action. Dallas should win, but covering the 4-points might be a different story."

Same situation the Cowboys were in last year at Tampa. New regime, new QB, new scheme. It took a half to adjust, but the talent differential was just too much for the Cowboys to lose.

At least we're familiar with most of the personnel, and we've faced Shanahan offenses and Haslett defenses in the past. And maybe Zorn, or Gibbs, or Spurrier was the problem, but haven't the Commanders sucked on opening day for years?

We played Tampa close for a while because we had Crayton and Roy at WR. Our defense also had a few new parts and Wade was over complicating his scheme for the first game on the schedule. Brooking, Igor, Jenkins still learning and run blitzes being called kept the Bucs close. We started sticking to a basic package and shut them down. We scored 34 points with Patrick/Roy as our starting receivers.

Our only new started this year on defense will be Ball, and this is his 4th year with the squad, he knows what to do.

This game won't be close.

McNabb doesn't move around like he used to. Behind that pathetic offensive line, we should be all over him all day long.

It will be a tough game because i envision Shanahan trying to act like another George Allen, his team sucks so he'll have to rally behind the fabrication of Cowboy hate, something McNabb has and possibly he maintains too from his Niner days.

Shanahan actually loves the Cowboys and he likes Jerry. He wanted the Cowboys job before it became evident Wade had saved his job, then he went to look for something else. I think he only joined the Commanders because of Bruce Allen.

McNabb/Commanders have been shutout the last three games they have played the Cowboys, combined. McNabb had better receivers in Philly. I'm thinking shutout .
