Reports on Jordon reminds me of trysan Hill. Can be lazy at times.
It is simple what was said…they have impact rookies, as where ours need time to develop.
That can’t be applied to one team and used against another. We have no idea how they will play rather next to good players or not as good players.

It only holds true to those that want to always build up other teams while putting down the team they claim they are fans of. And that is about 80% on the posters on here.

That's not slighting the Cowboys. he also said that when you go the "youth movement route" it can take time to develop. i did re-read it. they have a solid line and added one of the best d linesmen in the draft and a stud lb (who was also mocked considerably higher) along with reinforcements in FA. That’s not throwing your young talent to the wolves so (in theory) it should be an easier transition. I really like Williams and hope he's a difference maker from the get go, but DE is a harder position than DT or lb. Our o-line has been pretty shaky, and we let collins go and are bringing in a raw, penalty prone kid. Again, I'm a fan of both picks, I can just see how phillys picks can make a quicker impact personally. It may not play out that way, but it's it's not some controversial statement.

that's the context I was referring to. Guy makes a reasonable post that you disagree with, so it must be because he wants to build up another team and putting down the Cowboys, when it clearly wasn't the case. Tis all

If Hurts somehow takes a big leap then it's the Eagles division. They have a better roster but QB is a major question.

Cowboys dominated the division last yr, sweeping all 6 games. However, the talent gap has grown much closer after this offseason:

-Cowboys lost Cooper, Collins and Gregory. They plan to replace all three with unproven, young talent. Whenever you go to the youth movement, it takes time to develop players.

-Eagles perhaps have the best roster in the division. Added an impact #1 WR, two impact defensive rookies and a few defensive starters via fa. Became more of a run first team, can Hurts beat teams through the air? Teams are going to force Hurts to beat them with his arm, not his legs.

-Washington is getting their stud pass rusher back in Chase Young. Defense took a step back, but they still have one the best defensive lines in the league. Wentz played with one of the best OL's in football with a great running game, now he comes to Washington with less talent, this could potentially be a recipe for disaster.

-Giants have two legitimate edge rushers now, although unproven. Have 2 top 5 picks at Tackle, but OL remains a questionmark. Daniel Jones still remains a turnover machine and durability concerns. This is a team in transition, they are in the midst of a rebuild.

Cowboys are favorite to win the division for the 2nd straight yr, which hasn't happened in years. Typicially, after an successful season, the Cowboys fail to make the playoffs the following yr. This has to change, still have the best QB in the division and by a far margin. Eagles represent more of a challenge, but still could be a franchise QB away. Think both Washington and the Giants will struggle again this season.

- Washington has added Carlson Wentz – but Indy could not wait to hurry and get rid of him- including his former coach Frank Reich.
He had a fabulous rushing attack (Taylor) a top OL and capable receivers – but he makes awful, puzzling decisions, can be rattled physically/mentally
and he still seems gun shy from the Philly days.
He’s half jigsaw puzzle and half humpy dumpty. Smack him around and rattle and his game will fall apart.
Gibson is a nice runner with notorious fumbling issues, Wentz to McCauglin ?
DE Chase Young was actually non factor before his ACL tear. Will it take a recovery year to return to form ?
Otherwise it's Young vs Steele.. Ditto with Jon Allen vs Tyler Smith
If we can get pass their front, their secondary can be had
Commo’s had below average QBs- now with Wentz they just have average.

QB Jalen Hurt just doesn’t scare me, .. but Next year I full expect Philly to package it’s multi-1st rd picks to seek it’s future franchise QB
DT Jourdan Davis and Hargrove should be tough vs run, and they got a gem in LB Nakobe Dean- but their secondary can still be had.

Depending if there is a QB prospect draftee that they really, really coveted ..really think he's sure fire franchise cornerstone QB, they most definitely will make
a very serious push to trade up for that QB,.. assuming if they are not in a position (such as No.1 overall) to draft him outright without a big trade.

Much like they did with Carlson Wentz.
They have the high draft picks picks ammunition to do so.

I think Davis is a boom or bust player. I am leaning boom with him because of his measurables. But in college he was sitting on the bench a lot taking a breather. Can they depend on him in crunch time to be 100% ready to give 100%. If the answer is yes, his upside is through the roof.

I am not as convinced Dean and Jurgens will be the players to match their hype. Usually when players fall as far as Dean there is some reason. Usually. Maybe Dean is the exception but I am not ready to anoint him.

Before the combine Jurgens was not that highly rated. He put on a decent show at the combine and shot up some boards, but beware those workout warriors.

Davis showed a lot of laziness in college, despite playing limited snaps in a rotation.

I said pre-draft that he is Dontari Poe.

Poe had a couple of top notch seasons, but most seasons he was a disappointment, especially considering that he was drafted #11 overall.

Miami's owner (based on many reports) told the Head Coach to take the 2019 season, but the HC eventually grew tired of losing and they ended up winning 5 games.
- They ended up with Tua at pick #5 while the Bengals got Joe Burrow at #1.

Well, we are expecting our first-round pick to start and possibly even improve the position and he was drafted at 24. So we should expect Jordan Davis to make just as much if not more an impact for Philly on its defensive line. Not exactly sure who the other impact rookie defender would be. I'm assuming Nakobe Dean in the third round, but he certainly shouldn't be expected to make more of an impact than Sam Williams for us.

I do think the Eagles improved at some positions through free agency while we possibly declined at some, but the biggest gap remains at quarterback. However, teams have shown that they can win, and even win Super Bowls, with a just so-so quarterback if they make the team around him good enough. I don't believe the Eagles accomplished that, though. They still have some weaknesses, but signing Hassan Reddick should improve their pass rush, A.J. Brown should improve their receiving corps. And Bradberry should strengthen their secondary.

You'd have to say it's a strong possibility that our FA signings have to be considered a wash at best: Washington for Cooper/Wilson and Fowler for Gregory, The Eagles understand that they have to catch us, though, because we're currently ahead of them and to their credit, they made moves to try to do that. We'll see how it works out.

I think Tyler Smith will be great against Davis (Large DT without polished technique).

TS is more likely to have issues with veterans that have polished technique and probably more with quick DTs and than over-sized DTs.

I agree. I think he can handle power. It's when he wants to maul guys and they use quickness to get out of it that he's liable to grab and hold. I think Davis is a good matchup for him.
