The first 6 games? Where we played Carolina, Philly, and the Giants? We looked good against the Patriots even though they were sloppy **. Remember, Dallas still played good against the crap teams in the second half of the season. This is not two different Daks, it's Dak and the Cowboys not able to play well against better opponents.

He was MIA for 2.5 Quarters vs the Bolts.....The refs calling back that TD in NE (score would have been 21-7 Pats) helped him avoid another panic attack game......yes give him some dog teams and he is great again and again....

I love all of the excuses. Dak was hurt. Dak was better in the first half. No, Dak was Dak. It's amazing how Dak gets a pass because of his calf, but Baker Mayfield sucks. Him playing with a torn whatever in his shoulder doesn't mater.

You still have to put a team around him. Then you have other teams that want to win too. Just because you're good, doesn't mean you are winning anything. I think Romo was a Stafford clone. Just with a little more mobility.

Dean is on a better defense, scheme and talent wise than the Cowboys offer. I was hoping for him as he could have been Quinn's Deion Jones but DL go before LB's.

What is it precisely that Philly does schematically on defense that makes you think it is a better scheme than what Quinn is running in Dallas?

I’m just wondering what it is that you’re seeing. Is it the DL alignment? How the LB’s play? How often they play in what coverage?

The Cowboys best seasons of those 15 years have come when they had young draft talent emerge.
Running it back with the vet laden squads is when they fell short.

The Cowboys have the best single OL: Martin
The best CB in Diggs
The best overall defensive player in Parsons
The best QB in Dak
The best RB in Zeke

They went 12-5 last year and won the division by 3 games.
They did that with Dak coming off of major injury and surgery, Collins getting suspended 6 games, The WR room all getting COVID in a week of each other.
I don't think the Cowboys win the division by 3 games but they are still easily the best team in the division.

I don't care where they were drafted. Romo was every bit as good as Stafford. Kurt Warner was better than both by far.

Wentz has been hammered for last season but in reality and when looked at objectively, he largely played well. The assertion that he had an amazing o-line is simply untrue. The Colts had a load of injuries upfront at the start of the season and were not a top 10 unit even with the excellent run blocking for Taylor. The pass protection was one of the worst units in the league for many games. If the unit isn't sorted out next season then Matt Ryan will not do any better and spend most of the time on his back given his lack of mobility.

Fill your boots criticising Wentz for previous seasons but, whilst he had a few terrible interceptions, he played well last season particularly given the poor pass protection and average receivers around him.

Wentz isn’t as bad as some on here make him out to be (or as bad as the Colts owner made him out to be)… but his confidence is shot, IMO, and what happened in Indy is only going to make matters worse between his ears. Maybe something about his personality doesn’t mesh well with a locker room or something. Even when he was playing well in Philly, many of his team mates seemed to prefer Foles.

I don’t know. Like you said, it is all kind of weird.

What I do know is that he will be better than what Wash had at QB last year. I don’t think he will ever be what you really want at QB though.

I think Davis and Dean help that Eagles defense day one game one and Jurgens is the center of the future Add Brown to the WR corp he’s so much better then Reagor ever will be and the Eagles are Dallas biggest challenge for the East .

Davis lined up right over Biadasz will be a major challenge.

This is not a win,, TS has to be the neutralizer.

Phi D and Washington D is always tough and so those games will be closer. ( Dont go by last years Philthy games , the 1st one with better Dak and 2nd they rested all front line .)

He was also recovering from covid for the Jaguars game. The defense played a poor game yet Wentz took all the blame. Agree, it was a weird situation.

The best DL Group --WFT easily. PHI DL core is fine but not star laden. The big kid will 100% help versus the run. DAL has the best 2 pass rushers in the division with DLaw(4th rated PFF Edge) and Parsons but is weak versus the run for sure. Reddick was the PFF 42nd rated Edge last year so not really a pass rush saviour.
The best WR Group -- Lean DAL. PHI doesn't return a single WR coming off 1K yards. Nor do they return a QB to elevate WRs. DSmth is 175 pounds and AJ is 6 foot and 225 so an interesting, specialized role set up. DAL returns a 23 year old top 10 graded WR and up his targets. End of day Dallas will pass for 1200 more yards on the season than PHI so the WRs will simply look better.
The best LB Group -- PFF rated Parsons the top LB in football by quite a wide margin last year. LVE was rated 35th best and is a fine stop gap. With teams playing only 2 PHI does not have any edge here and never will with Parsons playing as he did as a rookie.
The best CB group -- PHI has been upgrading that secondary for 4 years straight because Dak keeps torching them. DAL still has the best group here by far with 3 legit CB and a top rated nickel.
The best TE Group --Goedert is a quality TE but group? Eagles don't have a proven 2nd TE anymore than Dallas does. Jack Stoll is lol WAS and NYG both have depth advantages. Goedert and Schultz both rank top 10.

I think they have better talent and fewer weak links to have to cover for and they play as units better.

What Quinn did with Parsons was out of necessity because he needed to manufacture a pass rush.

The Cowboys have Parsons and Diggs and only Diggs because of the picks, he’s not even the best Cowboys cover corner.

They led the league in picks last season or they don’t have a 12 win regular season. Can they do that this season?

OL - Even if Smith "hits" they have a better OL. Their OTs, combined, our better than ours. Smith is better than their LT but that kid is good and ascending. But Johnson is much better than Steele. And the biggest difference in their OL and ours? Kelce at OC. It's such a massive gap between what they run out there and what we run out there.

WR - Until Gallup comes back and shows he's healthy, Smith and Brown are better than Lamb and whomever we run out there as a #2 at this point.

TE - I'd trade Schultz for Goedert without even blinking. So Philly has the edge at TE.

CB - It's close. It's not Dallas by far. Slay is every bit a top level CB like Diggs. Adding Bradberry was a coup for Philly who had a black hole opposite Slay. Joseph is unproven. You also show some bias here because you pull out PFF grades when it shows Dallas was better but then ignore them when it hurts your case. You call Dallas' CBs the best group by far but then when you look at PFF grades, Slay was 81.3 and Bradberry was 62.8 compared to Diggs at 59.6 and Brown at 67.7. If you were using PFF grades consistently, then you couldn't possibly reach the conclusion we have the best CBs by far.

Be careful relying on PFF grades.

It's amazing we haven't been passed by yet. Jerry literally goes out of his way to make sure we don't separate ourselves from the pack, even though we have/had the existing talent to take that next step with logical ownership. It's a testament to just how poorly ran the Commandos and Giants are.

How far the Eagles can go in 2022 will depend on Hurts taking the next step in his development & ultimately becoming the next franchise quarterback. The Eagles certainly have a favorable schedule based on the opponents' win percentage (.464 is third-lowest in NFL).

The Cowboys beat their division foes by an average of something like 25 ppg last season. So these teams will need to improve by nearly 4 TDs to be better than the Cowboys.. Good luck with that.

well now they wont have collins at all, no cooper and less overall talent at the wr position, gallup missing 4-6 games, same 2 running backs, same offensive coaches, they replaced a penalty machine in CW with a guy who had more penalties and less experience in college. Defensively they aren't far off from where they were last year but offensively they are behind and while i want them to win the division i won't believe it till i see it.
