Early stab at a mock and some off-season moves.

Cowboys lose in FA: Schultz, LVE, AB, Pollard to FA and cut Zeke.
Cowboys add in FA: Daron Payne (DT), Terrance Steele (extension), Rashaad Penney

Round 1 - Broderick Jones (OT) - Battle tested SEC OT with G experience. Allows Smith to kick back inside where he is best suited and gives us a a new pair of OLmen to build around.

Round 2 - Joey Porter Jr. (CB) - long, lanky CB that fits the mold that fit's Quinn target. Enjoying a breakout year at PSU with a 59 QBR when targeted and 0 TDs allowed. Plug and play for losing AB in FA.

Round 3 - Keondre Cobrun (NT) - big NT from UF who is a run stop machine.

Round 4 - Zach Charbonnett (RB) - explosive size/speed RB from UCLA that can do it all.

Rough rookie year for Tolbert but I'm still high on him developing into WR3 for next year and hoping Clark can turn into our starting MLB.

No problem with your draft
What I’ve been thinking is
O Cyrus Torrence
Ika Baylor
Charbonnet your guy
Based on current rankings I trade down for a third and trade back up for Ika
I just want the trenches solved.

Every mock I've seen has Porter (CB) going in the top 20. I can't say I know because I don't rate college prospects and only go off of what I hear but our 2nd round pick will be in the 50's.

While I like the bulk what you've done, I cant a) see them parting with BOTH Zeke and Pollard and b) going after the oft-injured Penny (no matter how good he is WHEN healthy).

I didn’t realize his injury history was bad - go grab a more durable FA RB and I’m good with
it.

They will tag Pollard
We have to get:
Speed at WR
Another frontline OL
Size at DT
Playable CB
If this is a window, and we’ll see after the playoff run. They need to fix at least one of these issues in FA.
You might pull it off through the first three rounds but to take it to the fourth round hoping to fill an immediate need isn't realistic.

It will be interesting to see how Washington handles Payne’s free agency. Do they tag him or let him walk? Payne may be looking for a fresh start and want to get out of that dysfunctional franchise.

Cowboys should definitely be interested. Inside force they’ve been looking at DT.

Yea, if they let him walk he’s the player weve needed and been screaming for
for years.

If not, the kids from Baylor and FL looked like good NT options.

Porter is a 1st round pick for sure. Could be the 1st corner off the board. Tremendous ceiling and the kind of player this team likes to draft. Ika would be a nice get in round 2. Team has to get size and physicality on the inside.

Joey Porter isn't getting out of the top 20 in the first round and Zach Charbonnet will go no later than late second round. Very unrealistic mock.

Would LOVE to see Penney run behind this line. Well, hopefully well in front of it. :D

Like the mock except seriously doubt both Pollard and Zeke are gone. Zeke could take a pay cut and betting Dallas does everything they can to get Pollard including using the franchise tag. Also Anthony Brown I believe is also a FA after the year.

I could see Zeke being cut and us tagging Pollard.

I wouldn't take an NT that high if you are signing Payne. How much is Penny costing?

Are the retaining Donovan Wilson who is a FA?

I’d guess Penney would be around 5 mil.

You need 2 good DTs. We have a bunch of rotational dudes so I’d def draft one even if we sign Payne.

You dont need two space eaters though. If we brought Payne in, we would be much weaker at 3T than we are at 1T. We would have Odighizuwa, and a player in Gallimore who was barely ahead of the 3T we just cut. In fact, if we signed Payne, id take Gervon Dexter in the 1st. 6'6, 310 but would probably play ar 315-320 in the pro's. Can play 3T and 4i. A cross between Michael Brockers and a poor mans Cam Heyward

I can’t imagine Washington not tagging Payne. Would love to have him.
