We should get a good vet but not a top high priced CB. Then draft one high. Look for a burner WR either in draft or FA. We need another DEEP THREAT. That was PROVEN this year.

:starspin This is similar to how I would like to see us work toward during FA and the draft. Get some players who can come in an contribute quickly, but also draft some players and bring them along.

:starspin I've read where Valley Ranch seems to really like Stanback, and while he may have the physical skills, he's still raw at the WR spot, and who knows if he'll ever make the successful transition to being an NFL receiver though.

Good looking list except I do not want DeSean Jackson in the first ....

I do not want a 160 lb receiver in this division.

No doubt they have faith in Stanback..I also think we need to make an impact move at the WR position this season because our window may be closing with T.O. 34 years old, TG most likely retiring, etc.

If I had to predict the Cowboys offseason I would say they sign Drayton Florence to a pretty sizeable contract and they take a cheap flier on Troy Williamson. Most of the attention and money is going to have to go towards locking up Hamlin, MB3 and Canty. I'm kind of torn on Flo.

First the Cowboys need to figure out what they are going to do with their own. Are you willing to pay Flozell and Hamlin? Can you get deals done with some of your young players and keep them in the fold?

After that is done, (and I think it will get done) you have to decide what are the biggest holes left to fill.

I see corner as being a huge need. Jacques Reeves was obviously in over his head just a little bit. I think they'll look to improve there, and I suspect they will try to minimize their reliance on Anthony Henry. I'm just not sure the coaches trust him as much as so many fans do. Because of that, I expect Dallas to look for a solid starting caliber corner who won't break the bank. Drayton Florence seems to fit the bill.

I'd like some speed at receiver too. I don't think Dallas will spend much in free agency here though. For one thing, I think Dallas already signed a free agent receiver named Patrick Crayton. I suspect they look to draft to fill this.

Running back may be something that gets filled in free agency. I know most people are pretty convinced that Jerry will try to fill this in the draft, but I'm not sure they will want to completely rely on a rookie. I kind of expect a solid veteran who might be able to help on special teams too to be added to the mix.

And while all of this is happening, I think the team will be looking for more role players, speed, and leadership.

Do you want Suggs as a DE or as an OLB? I'll assume as a OLB unless you want Dallas to switch to the 4-3 because Suggs is not built to be a 3-4 DE. He has played in the Ravens 3-4 as an OLB and in their 4-3 as a DE.

I keep seeing WR Bernard Berriam's name come up and it has made me curious. I don't really know that much about him, but from what I saw of his play the last couple of year he didn't do too much other than fly routes. He is a good athlete and was good at running fly routes, but I rarely saw him do other things that all around receivers do.

Other than us bringing back our own guys I agree with most, we should sign a CB and a WR. Also, we should draft a CB and WR

Draft wise it's to early to tell who we should draft but FA wise I think we should sign Donte Stallworth.

TO, Stallworth, and Crayton would be a nice combo. Stallworth is the stretch the field type of we need if Glenn hangs up the cleats.

I'd actually like to raid the Commanders for two specific players:

Shawn Springs and Rock Cartwright

I think Springs will get released in a salary cap move and I think he's still solid. (anything's better than Jacques Reeves!) I think given his family ties to Dallas, he may be open to coming to Dallas - mayeb at a bit of a discount.

And I think Cartwright can be a solid #3 running back and jack-of-all-trades for the Cowboys' special teams units - and he shouldn't be too expensive either.

that's actually a very, good idea, getting Springs in here would allow us to play more man w/ our corners, at the worst, he would be a competent #3 guy, only issue w/ him is his health, although he stayed relatively healthy this year

I like your thinking
