Move on from Devin Street. You cannot tell me that there aren't at least 15 young WRs sitting on NFL Practice Squads better than Street. To this day, outside of making a few nice blocks in the running game, i have yet to see what he brings to the table as a WR. Can't separate, no speed, awareness appears to be an issue....the only thing he has going for him is he is 6'2 210+ lbs. Brice Butler for crying out loud came from out of nowhere and in a matter of 2 weeks, the team clearly has more confidence in him than Street.

In the grand scheme of things, it's a minor problem. The guy probably practices well(I guess), the coaches like him for whatever reason, but at what point do you look for better options?

I wouldn't be surprised if he's replaced this week. And I would 'punt' Whitehead too. He's only moving further away from seeing the field anyway. This team needs some receivers who can play.

I'd let Whitehead return some punts, can't be any worse than "Fair catch" Beasley.

Sure he can. Beasley at least holds onto the ball. That's why he's out there fair catching everything. Whitehead would be putting it on the ground, just like the preseason.

He fumbled once and now he all of a sudden can never catch it? At least Whitehead showed a feel for making big plays in the return game, what has Beasley done to warrant PR duties? As for ball security Beasley needs to hold on to the ball while on offense.

The only thing that Beasley has shown is that he won't drop it. Whitehead has yet to show that. And it is the reason why he is getting further away from the field, and not closer to it.

There are guys on the street better able to contribute to this team and I think they should get started on signing them. At least one, if not two. Neither Whitehead nor Street are giving anything to a team in dire need of all the help it can get.

Catching the ball with his foot out of bounds is the last straw. That was inexcusable, and a bone head play by an Nfl receiver.

I'm on board with this. Dude is not a NFL receiver.

Beasley is the only one on the team who can catch kicks consistently, not because he has any skill at returning them.

The way our OL is playing, I'd try to find a few small, quick WR's like Beasley who can catch slants very quickly.

I have more interest in a veteran who knows what he's doing than another team's practice squad guy.

This team already has two receivers not capable of contributing anything in Street and Whitehead, and another that was borderline in Bryce Butler. But Butler has the excuse of being new to the system and playbook and he still at least made on big contribution.

But in watching the games, it looks like this team has exactly two reliable targets - Witten and Beasley. And if I can see that from my couch, I'm sure opposing coaches can too.

I will take a fair catch over a fumble any day.

Exactly. That was the next point I was going to make.

And it's clear from their actions that the Cowboys agree with us.

But if Whithead isn't ready to contribute - and he's not - then he shouldn't be on this 53-man roster. Especially not when you need all the help you can get at that position.

Good points. I'd prefer a vet but most of the guys available don't have much left in the tank. but i think we all agree that it shouldn't be difficult to upgrade the position if they tried.
