He fumbled once and now he all of a sudden can never catch it? At least Whitehead showed a feel for making big plays in the return game, what has Beasley done to warrant PR duties? As for ball security Beasley needs to hold on to the ball while on offense.

Nailed it! The field position on returns is killing this team as well!

LaRon Byrd was great for us in TC last year. I'd bring him in.

Was just about to bring him up too.

He looked good this preseason too.

All he does is make plays and never gets a chance.

Good points. I'd prefer a vet but most of the guys available don't have much left in the tank. but i think we all agree that it shouldn't be difficult to upgrade the position if they tried.

Even a 'washed up' Hakeem Nicks would be an improvement over what we're putting in the field. And I believe that either Clyde Gates or AJ Jenkins would provide more than what we're getting from Street or Whitehead.

This should have been done before the season. The guy is nothing more than a body. AJ would have at least made a play or two.

AJ is a nobody who has had multiple multiple chances with multiple teams.

I have no clue why anyone would want to bring that scrub back when it is clear he is not NFL material.

At least with the guys we have on our team now they still might have a chance to do something, even if that chance is small...but it is better than some guy that already has had multiple multiple chances with multiple teams and has done nothing with it.

Oh he might have made a play by now...dropping the ball doing down the field cause the guy has crap for hands.

How does this happen though? It kills me. How does a guy like Street who does ABSOLUTELY NOTHING with no upside to speak of hold a roster spot for this long?

Anyone recall how Da'Rick Rogers got along with Dooley at Tennesse? He has a checkered past and is out of a job at the moment, but coming out of school, he reminded me of a poor man's version of Dez. I know it won't happen, but he's still young and placed in the right situation, I think he may be able to contribute.

Im pinning this on Dooley. He's been trying to talk this guy up for over a year and if this is what we're getting, Dooley is a self-serving liar.

And to make matters worse, the team had all off season to see what this team looked like without Dez and they still went with this group!

We may have to bring in a WR, Butler went out with a hammy on that 60 yard plus catch. Need to see the extent of that injury too.

Move on from Devin Street. You cannot tell me that there aren't at least 15 young WRs sitting on NFL Practice Squads better than Street.

You wont catch me telling you that. If NFL players typically make their biggest improvement between year one and two,it didnt happen for him. He offers virtually nothing and doesnt appear to have much of a football IQ.

Dooley kicked him off the team.

Move on from Devin Street. You cannot tell me that there aren't at least 15 young WRs sitting on NFL Practice Squads better than Street. To this day, outside of making a few nice blocks in the running game, i have yet to see what he brings to the table as a WR. Can't separate, no speed, awareness appears to be an issue....the only thing he has going for him is he is 6'2 210+ lbs. Brice Butler for crying out loud came from out of nowhere and in a matter of 2 weeks, the team clearly has more confidence in him than Street.

In the grand scheme of things, it's a minor problem. The guy probably practices well(I guess), the coaches like him for whatever reason, but at what point do you look for better options?

Street is injured. He had to come out of the game last week because his ankle was swollen.

He had some good catches in the preseason before the injury.

I think they planned to minimize his playing time this week until Butler got injured. In the Atlanta game they used Street primarily on running plays because he is a very good blocker and then they used Butler on passing plays in part because Street is having difficulty cutting on his bad ankle. I think they would prefer to have made him inactive until his ankle has healed but they don't have enough players to make that possible. If Butler didn't get injured, I don't think Street would have played much.

I'm still not certain why they don't just use Escobar as a receiver. It seems like a big target would make it easier for Weeden.

I have to say I am disappointed with him. NO finds Snead and we end up with street. but I can't complain. we found beasly and a few others, so you win some, you miss some.

The story last week was... "Unleash Street". Remember that? Now it's cut him! Just another example of the love/hate relationship that fans have with the players. It's a "what have you done for me lately" mentality. Right or wrong, it is what it is.

Are you certain the OP of this thread is the same one that wanted to "unleash street" last week? Just cuz you read something about a player in a thread title doesn't mean it was/is the general consensus.

Street is a JAG.

Problem is that's all that's available right now.
