I pasted a lot but there is a lot more to read, I just wanted to make sure people actually read the jist of the article. I thought it was an interesting read.

Now I know Romo has his friends on the team, he's a great player and always seemed to be well liked in the locker room. What I did find surprising is that a player like Terence Williams indirectly take a shot at him in the offseason. You see Jason Witten resigning with the team to retire here regardless of Romo's feelings.

Tony Romo was everything Jerry Jones wanted Quincy Carter, Chad Hutchinson or Drew Henson to be and so much more. Tony Romo embraced that life and the status that came with it like most people would. The distance between Romo and the locker room between his status and injuries left the team looking for anything to give them hope.

Dak Prescott gave them that hope and they never seemed to look back.

This article has some truth, but it feels a little dishonest.

Romo has been the QB for 10 years. The players he was close with early on are gone, except for Witten.

That's normal.

Dak will be in the same position by the time he's 30.

There isn't a news source on earth that is good enough for some on here when it comes to news that puts Romo in a bad light.

This isn't even that bad. It's just a testament to why Dak took over the locker room. He blows Romo out the water when it comes to interpersonal intangibles.

The writer of the article confused me. He wrote that Romo was in a non-exclusive club that didn't include certain team mates but did include other team mates. Huh? I don't get it. also the writer said that Martin never had the luxury of watching a game from the Jones' family suite. But Martin hasn't been injured and he hasn't missed any games. Has he? I might be wrong but I don't remember him being injured. He had a good point with Oscan, Oscan was out for a while and never watched a game in Jones' Luxury box.

I don't know how much of this I believe. I think on all teams there are some players that get along better with management and some players are better friends with each other. It's hard for me to believe that every single player on the team likes everyone. I think this reminds me of Aaron Rogers when he wasn't playing well earlier this season. Media was saying that Aaron was stuck up and not respected in the locker room. That talk went away when Aaron started playing well. Now Romo is on his way out the door in some fashion and media is talking about him.

I believe that most of the team likes Dak but not because they didn't like Romo but Dak seems like a grounded, really cool dude. Dak is a likable guy and probably most of the team likes him but that doesn't mean that they dislike Tony.

Anyway I wish I was a sports writer for Dallas this offseason, if I had writer's block I'd just write something comparing Tony to Dak and it would get printed.

Jane Slater's infamous gossip girl "source" sure has gotten traction.

Cant say I ever liked Romo doing stuff with Garrett--though I'd blame Garrett 10000x more than Romo for that. What's Romo suppossed to say, sorry I do t want to watch a game with you Jason?

Otherwise, please name one player in all of the NFL that doesnt have favorite guys to ha d with from the team?
There are none. But for reason, Romo has to be be different.
I mean, Zeke and Dak happen to be two young stars. Can they not ha g out now because it may seem exclusive?

These stories are such bs!

Why dont't we just tip our hats to Dak and be thankful we have a good young QB going forward?

Since then, it’s been a whirlwind of emotions for Romo. He lost the job he loves and he also isn’t being let out of his contract to seek a new home, despite Jones telling him at one point he would be. That has to be hard and it’s understandable he would feel a bit betrayed by the team. It’s also understandable he would be distancing himself from the Cowboys as reported by NFL Media’s Jane Slater.

....
While Romo was the starter, he was often seen with his close friends, which included running back DeMarco Murray, tight end Jason Witten and head coach Jason Garrett. He would frequent sporting events with his coach in a non-exclusive club that didn’t feature other stars like receiver Dez Bryant, linebacker Sean Lee or defensive tackle Tyrone Crawford
....

So while Romo is rightfully emotional, to say he is only distancing himself now from teammates is inaccurate. Romo has been distancing himself from teammates for years, whether he realized it or not. By making himself one of the higher ups, he helped Dak Prescott take his job."

I'm pro-Romo but I can definitely see how some issues would separate Tony from his teammates. I think the article has some weight

-He was a perceived favorite by the coach and owner (More than just perception, really. He was a favorite.)
-He was making an insane amount of money which can create envy. Dak was making peanuts by comparison.
-The age gap and his marital status

Also...
-As has been discussed before, Dak has a natural edge identifying w/both black and white players as he's bi-racial.
-Dak and the team were on a roll and Tony was perceived as a potential disruption to that

No blame on Tony at all...he tried to connect w/all the players and seemed to genuinely care about all the guys. There's just some human nature factors.

TW said the same things TO said about Romo.

As the yr went on you would see a less and less enthusiastic Romo on the sidelines with Daks success. The lovers will call it hating, i saw it as Romo noticing the team had moved on without him. That PC he held just made him look weak IMO. And he looked so uncomfortable doing it. And i wouldnt doubt it if you told me Jerry asked him to do it. Romo had alot of success numbers wise, but in big games he was avg. IM not going to lie and say i feel sorry for him because i really dont. This team made him a very rich man without winning anything.

I agree. I don't think it was intentional or think that Romo was a bad guy. If Dak never came along.....I'm sure we wouldn't hear none of this stuff.

But Dak's youth and swagger just trumps what Romo was at this point. Dak represented hunger and youth. He also represented coming from the bottom which at one point Romo represented. But by the time age 37 came along......he was no longer that underdog. He was simply a Dallas Cowboys quarterback.

So I don't know if this article holds any merit. It may not. But I can believe why things have gotten how they were. Garrett and co. stuck with Dak because the players wanted Dak. And plus it was hard to rob the guy of his job when he was on a 11 game win streak or whatever it was.

I suppose he has a point, but if they had not gone on a winning streak, Romo would have been accepted back with open arms...So...No winning, no team Dak.

I think dak used his psychology degree in winning over players, tony threw a party, but that was too little too late.
But that isnt why tony lost the job, it was that jg and linehan wanted to go with dak if he showed he could win games.

Now that'd be a twist.
Actual facts for a change.

But yes, hangin with the owner or coach always seemed a bit odd to me. My guess is that they invited him, a d he didnt invite himself. But weird nevertheless.
Brady does it some, but thats Brady.

As for having buddies he liked to hang with. Anyone having issue with that has lost their mind.

I doubt Aikman and Charles Haley played chess togther on Saturday nights. And I doubt Rodgers hangs with every guy on the team regularly. And neither does Dak.
