Now that'd be a twist.
Actual facts for a change.

But yes, hangin with the owner or coach always seemed a bit odd to me. My guess is that they invited him, a d he didnt invite himself. But weird nevertheless.
Brady does it some, but thats Brady.

As for having buddies he liked to hang with. Anyone having issue with that haslost their mind

Yeah I was gonna say Brady does it some as well.

I don't find it weird.....I just kind of took it as it comes with the perks of being one of the teams best players or being the quarterback.

But I also wondered how other players took that. Sort of shows favoritism. Not the best thing to do for a team you want to play as a team.

Tony's issues were that he was getting hurt often, and that the team was so completely dependent on him. Once a young healthy player came in a me demonstrated he could play at a very high level, the rest was history.

There isn't a news source on earth that is good enough for some on here when it comes to news that puts Romo in a bad light.

This isn't even that bad. It's just a testament to why Dak took over the locker room. He blows Romo out the water when it comes to interpersonal intangibles.

I assume you're basing this assessment on your close interpersonal relationship with the team.

Jane Slater's infamous gossip girl "source" sure has gotten traction.

Cant say I ever liked Romo doing stuff with Garrett--though I'd blame Garrett 10000x more than Romo for that. What's Romo suppossed to say, sorry I do t want to watch a game with you Jason?

Otherwise, please name one player in all of the NFL that doesnt have favorite guys to ha d with from the team?
There are none. But for reason, Romo has to be be different.
I mean, Zeke and Dak happen to be two young stars. Can they not ha g out now because it may seem exclusive?

These stories are such bs!

Why dont't we just tip our hats to Dak and be thankful we have a good young QB going forward?

Albeit from a small minority, all the hate and backstabbing of a player that carried this team for years is dumbfounding and embarrassing. No class. By all accounts Tony Romo has been a good teammate. The fact that the young guys formed their own clique is just normal human behavior.

It goes back to that weird thing Cowboys fans do, where every player who isn't a Hall of Famer is automatically treated like a bum and a bad person. It's as if not being Roger Staubach makes Tony Romo Tee Martin or some crap.

"For years quarterback Tony Romo was living the good life. He was the starting quarterback for one of the most recognizable franchises in all of sports history. He had the money, the fame and of course was also in the good graces of billionaire Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones.
....
Since then, it’s been a whirlwind of emotions for Romo. He lost the job he loves and he also isn’t being let out of his contract to seek a new home, despite Jones telling him at one point he would be. That has to be hard and it’s understandable he would feel a bit betrayed by the team. It’s also understandable he would be distancing himself from the Cowboys as reported by NFL Media’s Jane Slater.

....
While Romo was the starter, he was often seen with his close friends, which included running back DeMarco Murray, tight end Jason Witten and head coach Jason Garrett. He would frequent sporting events with his coach in a non-exclusive club that didn’t feature other stars like receiver Dez Bryant, linebacker Sean Lee or defensive tackle Tyrone Crawford
....

So while Romo is rightfully emotional, to say he is only distancing himself now from teammates is inaccurate. Romo has been distancing himself from teammates for years, whether he realized it or not. By making himself one of the higher ups, he helped Dak Prescott take his job."

I pasted a lot but there is a lot more to read, I just wanted to make sure people actually read the jist of the article. I thought it was an interesting read.

Now I know Romo has his friends on the team, he's a great player and always seemed to be well liked in the locker room. What I did find surprising is that a player like Terence Williams indirectly take a shot at him in the offseason. You see Jason Witten resigning with the team to retire here regardless of Romo's feelings.

Tony Romo was everything Jerry Jones wanted Quincy Carter, Chad Hutchinson or Drew Henson to be and so much more. Tony Romo embraced that life and the status that came with it like most people would. The distance between Romo and the locker room between his status and injuries left the team looking for anything to give them hope.

Dak Prescott gave them that hope and they never seemed to look back.
I've always had suspicions on how Romo interacted with everyone on the roster.

Bum?

The article isn't dragging him through the dirt. It's okay to look at stuff from a different prospective l.

Is the article over analyzing? Maybe but it's not a completely unfair analysis.

QB's get replaced by younger QB's. Its the same with every position. Its not a surprise and there is not that much to it. The same thing will happen to Prescott.

Dak has the natural ability to get all players around him to be fired up and want to play for him at their best. I'm not sure Tony had that ability, at least not to the extent Dak has. He's a natural well liked leader by everyone around him just like Roger Staubach was.

You're comparing a 37 year old married person with 3 kids and a hot wife with a 23 year old single. Of course there's a huge difference. The end result was no different. Same result. Divisional and done.

Let me know when the 23 year old is a 37 year old and as had no Conference Championship appearances. You contradicted yourself by saying they were totally different then saying the end result was the same. 1 year vs 12 years is not the same result. This one season was only a sample size of Romo's career.

I can't even open the article now. It tries to redirect me to the NFL Spin Zone.

It's a silly concept. Long time veteran players are not going to hang out with rookies every year. Romo didn't do anything differently than Aikman or many other veteran QBs.

it has always been about Tony's health. If Tony had not gone down Dak would not have gone in and taken his job last year.
This year I dont think so either [other then health] but by the three year Dak would be the guy.

You can speculate Dak's skills and personality may have forced a competition this year.

I think Tony's still the better QB, and by a fair margin. But between missing time, the cost, and the fact that Dak still has a ton of upside, you can see why the team went the direction it did.

It's a shame, though, that we couldn't see Tony run last year's team into the playoffs. Would have been my preferred outcome for everybody involved. That said, you couldn't ask for a better replacement than Dak. He's a cool dude, and is going to be a hell of a player for a long time.

Yeah I made this thread a month ago, it was moved to the QB Zone, now I see its back here.
