Eatman: Cowboys Have Interest in Tank Johnson

Not sure how that factors in at all.

I met you're avatar here in Anchorage a couple of weeks ago.

We are trying to get rid of our elephant. He came in w/ a couple million for the animal and to make a pitch for his CA organization.

Nice dude. Old - dresses to CA for me - but nice man.

From Nick Eatman's article that just came out:

That's DC.com reporting that we have interest in Tank, minimal as it may be.

There's some smoke here, fellas.

A guy who has a thing for guns on the same team with the Bullet Magnet (Aka Keith "Killer" Davis)?

That's a recipe for disaster.

I don't know which is cooler -- meeting Barker or owning an elephant.

That way we wouldn't have to release anyone. He would create his own roster spot.

In order to sign Tank, they'd have to release someone...Who would that be now that Ayodele is on board?

It's not gonna happen.
Yeah, cuz we all know that Remi Ayodele is a player who you just don't release....

*whispering*

What was that?

*whispering*

We cut him back on August 28th?

This just in... We have cut Remi Ayodele before. His presence on this roster is apparently NOT essential. We now return you to your regularly scheduled programming already in progress.

well we would have to cut one player to get to 52 then sign him and reserve/suspended list him and then resign the player we cut

For now, the Jay/Remi duo doesn't bother me a bit. Remi has shown some promise in TC. Heck-if they pan out over the next month, we may not even have to worry about Tank.

But yeah-I think, for now, we can get Tank at low risk.

If the coaching staff thinks he could help, which I doubt, I'd be willing to release these players

-Oliver Hoyte: By mid season, we may be willing to start Deon Anderson, which makes Hoyte expendable
-Miles Austin: He's not the primary KR and probably won't contribute much this year so he's an option, but probably less likely than the others
-Joe Berger: We carried 9 lineman last year, and we have several guys (McQuistern, Marten, and Proctor) capable of playing guard
-Stephen Bowen: If Ratliff strugles at NT, he'll be moved back to DE, that makes Bowen expendable
-Remi Ayodele: If Ratliff performs well at NT, but Ayodele struggles, or both, than he will be released.

Yep, I'd say this has Cowboys written all over it. He is truly has that Cowboy character. Better you than us. I'm surprised you haven't gone after Keyshawn Johnson again. Now he was a perfect fit and you gave up Galloway to get him. Real smart move I might add.:lmao2:

But he'd be our thug.:bang2: :bang2: :bang2: :bang2: :bang2:

he could protect Hamlin the next time he goes bar hopping...but yeah, we all know what could happen there.

I don't think it would be a bad idea to try a thug or two in Dallas again. Its been a long time. Maybe thats the problem with the current defense; they are just too nice.

Throw out all the off-the-field concerns and it would be real nice to have a fresh, in-his-prime, talent like Johnson come in for the stretch run.
Unless he comes in like Lett did after his suspension and just doesn't have it anymore.
