News: Eatman: Lucky Whitehead suspended for NYG for team rule violation

We are so quick to get rid of people, why is that? Anyone who screws up, "get him off the team", geesh.

Because this 'player' brings little to nothing to the team. Would you prefer instead that they coddle these marginal screw ups?

Apparently a gadget player who puts the ball on the ground and can't be trusted not to make a stupid play near the endzone on punts thinks it's in his best interests to ignore team rules. Intelligent choice there Lucky.

Lmao at the posters dissing him.

This dude will be missed. His blocking is huge, and his PR is way better than with faircatch Beas! Dunbar at KR?? Lol. You mean when he fell down in NO and blew his knee out?

Lucky plays the Dwayne Harris role here folks.

I believe on Cowboys Break this week they said he fumbles literally 10 present of the time he touches the ball. Hard to trust a player like that in the playoffs.

His jet sweep does keep teams honest and it has become a big part of our offense, that will be missed. On the other hand, he is at best a "poor man's" Dwayne Harris. Harris was a better returner and receiver and he was also a force on the kicking teams as well.

By the way, I don't regret getting rid of Harris but we can do better, especially if he is as immature as this makes him seem(believable if you follow him on social media).

I agree but the Cowboys are looking for a roster spot to get McFadden up next week and if Lucky is really hanging out all night and missed a team meeting this morning he may be the cut.

No loss really except for the single jet sweep play in each game.

Threat of jet sweep very important staple in our successful offense. And his PR is underrated, he is always a threat to fumble but also a threat to break big play. Beasley or Dunbar on jet sweep or return scares absolutely no one.

Whitehead is used on deeper punts due to his speed to give us a chance at a big return but he hasn't provided anything as a returner. However he has provided a little punch on offense. He had a 35 yard reception and he's carried the ball 8 times for 86 yards including a 26 yard play.

And he fumbles 1 time every 10 carries.

Lmao at anybody taking up for this screwup scrub who's been 'Lucky' to be in this league and on this team.

And too stupid to realize that.

I'm going to lose sleep over this...........not

Dunbar isn't much better at returning kicks either though. We need a real return threat this offseason.

Well, there's always the guy who put up these numbers in college... *wink*

Maybe, but I'm not so sure. Dunbar had been that kind of runner before his spate of injuries.

Dunbar was quick, not fast. 4.5 vs. 4.3 is huge difference especially on a stretch play designed to take advantage of pure speed.

Even so, not seeing Dunbar's old explosiveness this season.

Looks like old red used a Jimmy Johnson tactic to send the team a message.

Cowboys return man Lucky Whitehead won’t play tomorrow against the Giants, as the team has announced that he isn’t making the trip to New Jersey because of a violation of team rules.

It’s unknown what rule Whitehead violated and unclear whether the Cowboys are suspending him — which would mean he loses his weekly paycheck — or simply deactivating him.

Whitehead is the Cowboys’ primary kickoff returner, with 10 returns for 238 yards this season, and he’s the only player on the team who has returned a punt at all this season. It’s not immediately clear who will take his place on returns.
