I think he goes simply because it’s a coordinator job. My point was more of let Marinelli retire and keep everflus and let him be defensive coordinator

Admittedly, yea, that's a move he should make. Garrett is very much on the hot seat and this is a promotion. On top of that, I think McDaniels will be a great hire for Indy.

With Rod taking so long to decide, then the decision needs to be made for him, and not let his indesision effect the team........obviously if he's "thinking" about retiring then mentally he already has.

If they wanted him to be the defensive coordinator they would have fired marinelli and given eberflus a three year deal as defensive coordinator.

They want to have their cake and eat it too like always.

The best ting for eberflus is to leave, have a good colts defense for a couple of years and he will be a head coaching candidate somewhere

Can't stop an upward position move unless you throw money and at least contractual promises at the problem. You have to make him want to stay. My guess is he's gone and he's not someone you want to lose. JMO.

McDaniels and Patricia are smart. Both going to teams where they have established good QB's. Eli and a draft pick and the NY media doesn't sound enticing to me!
