Eberflus is the problem!

Yes, the Cowboys did trade away their best defensive player in Parsons, but they did fix a major weakness in stopping the run. Since Williams has been acquired, they are one of the best in that area. Last week, they didn't lose cause they couldn't stop the run, but rather Detroit ate them up in those soft zone coverage. Once Eberflus stopped sending the blitz, it was pitch and catch for the Lions Offense all night long.

Most of the same players are here from the Quinn/Zimmer defenses, yet they are all having their career worst seasons. Eberflus also ok'd the trades of Murray/Elam and the signing of Sanborn, all three have been complete busts. I understand that they do not want to keep on hiring a new DC every season, but Eberflus is clearly not the answer for the future of this team.

It is time to hire the best available candidate, not a coach who has been here before who has a prior relationship with the Jones family. Allow Schott to pick his own DC, like he did with his offensive staff. He hired a young, rising star in Adams as his OC, where he had zero prior experience with. Do the same for the DC. Yes, the defense needs some talent, but they aren't as bad as they have looked this season under Eberflus. Just look at the Bears defense this year, how much better they are post Eberflus.
I blame Diggs from day 1.

I was giving Eberflus the benefit of the doubt because of lack of talent we had earlier in the season. But this defense is somehow worse with Q, Revel and Overshown.

He should be fired tomorrow. If he was even close to competent they'd have 9-10 wins.

Not WORSE, just not a whole lot better....but they are better with Q and Overshown. Clearly not enough though. Secondary is beyond questionable. LBs are barely average, if average at all. And the defensive line isn't dominant enough to make a difference.

Just, not, good, enough...

One can debate whether we're now "stronger" against the pass or the run. Yet the fact remains: This defense stinks. From the head down.
