I don't know why people hate on this man. He's a lawyer and he obviously enjoys staying fit. Is he supposed to wear long sleeves to hide his biceps because youre insecure?? I don't get it. The man is swole.. Hard to hide swole.

He's not a good referee and the NFL and the press try to promote him as one of the best. And it's apparent that he gets favored by the NFL and the press in large part because...he's physically fit since that is what the league and the press often refer to him as in the same breath of how great of a referee they think he is.

For instance, there's usually bound to be some incredible amount of confusion between the refs which will delay the game in a Hochuli ref'd game. After taking way too much time, he will then come out with some long winded explanation that is often wrong and when he gets one of those long winded explanations right...the press will rave about how he took the time to get it right and that makes him a great ref. Never mind the fact that his crew continually gets confused way more often than they should and all of the calls they got wrong. Nope, he's a great ref because he took a long time to get 1 call right and 'by gawd, look at those pipes on him!'

I think a lot of it is that he projects a better image on the league because of his physical fitness and he's not some old looking codger refereeing a game. I couldn't care less if the referee looks like Barney from the Simpsons. Get the calls right and keep the game moving along and then I'll praise your refereeing skills.

I would love for you to care to expand.

Pretty please?

I would like to.....but then your getting into politics. Let me just say this.....you can tell a lot by where a guy went to school or where he is raised......Where a game is being refed....(state wise). There are alot of unspoken biases that playout...that the average fan probably don't catch.
You had better believe w/ the amount of money on the line...politics come into play.

Well if you find out who the ref is you'll be able to find out what calls they make most and even just the amount of flags they throw. I found a website a few years ago that broke it all down.

And for those that don't know.....Gene Steratore was the ref
in our playoff game vs Green Bay. Chaulk up a W for the Packers. Was also the ref in the now famous Calvin Johnson "no catch" game vs Chicago....Detroit loses game.

Ed's watching Boys, so don't line up in the neutral zone, don't move until the ball is snapped, don't pop a receiver's jersey, don't be the 12th guy on the field, don't grab anyone's facemask, and if you must hold, don't take your guy to the ground. We need this one badly, so please play smart.
