Ed Werder on judging the Cowboys

The yearly “you’re not allowed to be an excited Cowboys fan because last year they didn’t win the Super Bowl.” chatter.

Heaven forbid we cheer for the Cowboys, everyone says the same thing.

According to media heads, every fanbase is allowed to say they got Super Bowl on their mind; immediately after we say it, they all say the same thing… “they haven’t won since 1995… blah blah blah”

Whatever Werder!

And I’m old enough to recall when Ed Werder used to have relevant things to say.

Yeah Wardy, if you haven't noticed, they have won squat in decades.

That's why any little progress, is good sign.

...sheesh, what a tool.

Ed Werder or Jane Slater ?
:lmao:

I noticed though the past week, Jane has been more with other teams, like the Saints.
And another blonde reporter been at Cowboys camp.
It’s an ESPN thing since they bought NFL Network, spreading the talent around I guess.

Yes probably so.
Could be once they are back in Frisco at the Star, Jane will report on them more, since she lives in this area.

Maybe a regional thing the do for some reporters.

"The fans sense something different in the air. Rightfully so."

The key word there is "fans." This off season is proof that it's different. After 25+ years of failing his way, this fan thinks he is finally letting his coaches call the shots on hiring staff, trades and draft picks. I don't think Jerry would've traded a headline grabber like Parsons for a DT who rarely makes headlines.

If you're a bottom line Super Bowl or bust expectation level fan, and their used to be plenty of them including me, then he's right.

BUT The 30 years of playoff ineptitude has watered my expectation level down into settling for just making an NFC Championship game now.

BUT again unfortunately it seems the team can not even reach that expectation level either.

So I guess I really am stuck with being happy about winning a practice with a genuine championship contender.

Better than nothing, right?

COWBOYS!!

I don’t know why folks are taking umbrage with what Werder is saying?

He’s right.

I think it’s actually more schadenfreude towards the new/social media reporters and the content they put out.

Personally, I’m tired of these goofs making 20 minute videos with clickbait titles about how the Cowboys supposedly found another “late round gem” or calling some FA pickup a “blockbuster” roster move, or in this latest case how we supposedly dominated the Rams in a non-tackle practice.
