I honestly think Werner had as much to do with TO being released as anyone. Personally....I am thankful to Ed...even though I thought what he did was wrong with whole TO thing. In any case...Dallas has a fighting chance next year.

Spelling aside, I agree with your point. The obsession ESPN and Werder have with TO was too taxing on the team. Jerry loves any publicity, even the bad kind, but enough is enough. The locker-room was quiet, it was the parking lot that was distracting. Ask Cowboy Chris.

If Jerry is listening to Werder for direction, then Stephen needs to have a mandatory retirement for Jerry.

So, when the same problems crop up again this year, who will you blame then?

What will you do when Werder picks another target for his "stories"?

The whole TO thing was the most overblown thing I have ever seen in my life of football watching. The guy was run out of town purely for the sake of media ratings. He never did ANYTHING here that even remotely warranted the media witch hunt that eventually got a lot of sheeple believing in it. Shame on Jerry for letting the media call his roster moves for him.

I'd like to beat the ever-loving crap out of Ed Werder, honestly.

The worst part about this is that rat comes out of this looking like a genius.

I still think he was full of it.

One of the positives of TO not being here is we hopefully won't have a daily report from Werder at Valley Ranch. "TO sneezed on his way to his vehicle after practice, it was clear that he didn't cover his mouth. An unnamed source told me that he may or may not get sick from TO's actions. This just shows everyone how Jerry Jones is running this team, and Wade Phillips can't even get TO to act properly."

we all—those of us left most move forward regardless of what we think of this decision, and figure out a way to come together and be a team,” Ratliff continued, “no matter how talented we are, if there’s no chemistry or trust within that locker room, it affects us on the field, we must be one, as I told you earlier this week, we must find a way to all become one.”

What don't people get here? Players are saying the locker room antics were a problem. owens has had three teams say the same thing, he being the common denominator. How is it being blown out of proportion?

Maybe our biggest problem is that a good many of our players are idiots.

We've heard more than one of them say something like this, "There's no problem in the lockerroom. No chemistry or trust, either. But, there's no problem."

not me, personally i am will be totally glad when the cowboys blackball ed weinei werner. He is the start of a whole bunch of the leaks, he assumes things, then he adds onto it to make his story.

Look at whatever weinei werner talks, when other writers were asking wade questions, weinei werner was asking questions on one occassion about adam jones at least 3-4 questions were amied at wade, and you could look at weinei werners face when wade wouldnt answer the questions. Now did the other reporters ask questions about adam jones, no, just weinei.

Same thing would happen to T O and weinei werner. Did you see werner talk about miles austin, or felix jones, or players that were making plays, no it was all negativity towards adam jones and T O.

thats who weinei werner is.

I do know this, weinei werner will have to answer to God for that. What weinei werner did wasnt journalism, even michael irvin caught weinei werner in a lie, which what werner did was finally admit it was his assumptions, not fact.

Just like jerry jones said one day this year, we know what reporters to talk to and what ones not to now. When espn was laughing at the cowboys when they were losing, and not being in the playoffs, if i was the owener, i would be sure that to tell the players, and coaches you dont talk to certain espn writers, especially weinei werner.

Ed Werder is not a savior of the Dallas Cowboys. Terrell Owens was. Jerry Jones crucified him. In a few days, Owens will rise again in free agency. All fans who believeth in him will flock to him once more. Surely, goodwill and wins will cometh to his fourth team.

What say you, Timmy?

Tebow: "Amen"

Thanks.

Ratliff also said: “I don’t know, I never understood all the hype and controversy about him being a distraction, because he’s been a great teammate, at least from my experience.” Ratliff continued, “I guess he’s the fall guy, I just don’t understand it, and I don’t know what else to say.”
What are YOU not getting? The few players that have spoken on his release have all stated he wasn't a problem in the locker room, so I don't know how you came to the above conclusion. Obviously, there were other influences that caught JJ's ear (Werder, Reeves, Garrett) that made him come to the point to where he decided it was time to release him. That being said, I'm sure there are a segment of players who didn't like Owens (there always are; nobody's liked by everyone in any workplace) but there's been nothing tangible that's been stated to the point of his being the "cancer" of the locker room.

Yes he was a savior.

Ed Werner is now on Jerry Jones Christmas card list.

I highly doubt that. Can't say the same about a bunch of fans, but I won't name names.

So if Dallas goes say 7-9 next year and the offense tanks because Roy E. Williams isn't nearly as good as Owens and has been a headache and Crayton continues to shoot off his mouth and not get open and Romo continues to be careless with the ball and Garrett's playcalling continues to be mundane and baffling at the same time (which is hard to do, but he did it last year) is Mr. Blue Suit still the savior?

I really, REALLY hope I'm wrong.

As I posted on my blog, I really WISH that I truly believe that Owens was the root cause of the problem and his presence is the main reason why the team went 9-7 last season. It would be an easy solution for me, release Owens and watch the team blossom again. Unfortunately, I hardly see Owens as the problem on offense.

Furthermore, I think we're just fooling ourselves if we really think that the press won't do their best to come up with some other BS story on the Cowboys which will wind up being a distraction.

For the most part when Owens was in Philly the media adored the move by the Eagles. There was the one tussle up where Owens was yelling on the sidelines in a game against Pittsburgh, but other than that, they downright adored the move. Then things legitimately blew up and the media rightfully reported it.

But from day one with Dallas the media scolded the move and tried to dig up controversy at every chance they could get. Remember, Mr. Blue Suit was the guy that reported that Owens 'attempted suicide because he was depressed over the way Parcells was treating him.' It only tells me that while Owens piques the attention of many people and reporters understand that, it's still a Dallas Cowboys thing. And it's not going to go away anytime soon.

Some savior.

One poster mentions [strike]Werner[/strike] Werder as a "savior" and the whole world has to think it means all Cowboys fans are grateful to him. Ya gotta love hyperbole.
