We so should have drafted my guy Eddie Royal instead of Mike Jenkins.

Sorry. I'm bored and all I keep seeing is how Royal is 5th on the depth chart. Then 4th. Then 3rd. And now 2nd... before even playing a game.
Sounds like he is going to start as a rookie. He's gonna be a fine WR in the NFL.

He would have been the perfect speed complement and future star WR in Dallas.

Oh well.
At least we didn't goof like Green Bay and draft Jordy Nelson when Royal and Hardy were still on the board.

I'll quit staring into the water under the bridge, now.

I liked Royal a lot, and I think we were pretty high on him...

BUT...

I also live in Denver and it's not exactly like they have an all star cast at WR. Him moving up the depth chart in Denver is like McFadden moving up in Oakland. And who's to say that Green Bay didn't make the right choice with Nelson over Royal and Hardy?

I was just throwing my 2 cents in on Jordy. Just as I was on Royal and Hardy. I don't think Jordy was a good pick where they took him. But I may be wrong.

Sorry, but Jenkinns pickup was huge after losing Reeves and Nate Jones via FA. Plus, it wasn't a sure thing that Adam Jones will be re-instated, which would of left the Cowboys very very thin at CB.

Also, Royal wouldn't see the field much this year and rookie WR's tend to struggle in the first year or two. We are in a win now mode.

Would you be comfortable with Scandrick starting at CB while Newman is hurt? I wouldn't.

Could Eddie cover wide-outs if Pac-Man was not reinstated? That would have left us with a very unproven commodity as our nickel CB. Hindsight is for LOSERS!

Haven't we been over this whole "We so should have drafted (insert WR name here)" like a million times when we now know JJ really wasn't going to do that?

If Hardy fell to us then maybe we go that direction was the word after the draft.

I like Royal but I'm very happy with the selection of Jenkins. I think the Cowboys secondary has the potential to be the best secondary we have ever had and I think Jenkins will be big part of this team now and in the future.

One move up is probably related to Brandon Marshal being suspended for 3 games by "The Sheriff"

It's hard to evalute VT Wr's, because Frank Beamers style of coaching is predicated on Defense, field position, special teams and ball control. His WR's are never going to have great numbers. I saw clowney had a great night in the chicago/kc game as well. I know Mike Mayock was high on royal, but he wasn't a gamebreaker in college.

Per Stephen and Jerry Jones the Cowboys were only interested in 2 WRs on Day 1 of this Draft. Limas Sweed and James Hardy.

Mike Jenkins was the #1 rated CB going into the Combines. Cromartie and McKelvin emerged from the Combines as the exciting new choices. Most experts think Tampa reached for Talib.

It is no secret that I was sky high on fellow UA Alum Antoine Cason. I felt McKelvin, Cromartie, and Jenkins would be gone by the time we picked at 22. I knew the Cowboys had kept Jenkins at the top of their CB list. The day before the Draft I said if he was there at 22 we would take him. I was shocked when we took Felix instead. I wasn't shocked when we traded back up so we could get Jenkins before the Chargers took him.

Bottom line is there is no way we were taking any WR before this kid. Tomorrow night, it will be obvious why. Last year in college, when teams threw at Jenkins, the QB rating was 14.7. I don't care who you are or who you play, that is amazing.

I hope you're right.
But at CB, I've been a Brandon Flowers guy all along.

Flowers, Royal
Virginia Tech

Did I mention I'm from Virginia?:)

But seriously, these 2 were my favorites based on what I have seen and I still see big things in their futures.

No way.

Just pointing out the obvious exposure to VT.

Virginia is for lovers...
and Commanders haters.

I wouldn't want to be from anywhere else.

How else do you think I became a Cowboy fan?

Also, Royal wasn't a first round pick anyways, so how do you take over Royal over Jenkins???????

Go back and see how they ranked and it is not even close. Jenkins was always ranked in the top 20-25.
