We so should have drafted my guy Eddie Royal instead of Mike Jenkins.

Sorry. I'm bored and all I keep seeing is how Royal is 5th on the depth chart. Then 4th. Then 3rd. And now 2nd... before even playing a game.
Sounds like he is going to start as a rookie. He's gonna be a fine WR in the NFL.

He would have been the perfect speed complement and future star WR in Dallas.

Oh well.
At least we didn't goof like Green Bay and draft Jordy Nelson when Royal and Hardy were still on the board.

I'll quit staring into the water under the bridge, now.
At this point, I don't see how anyone can pretend to know who goofed and who didn't. From what I've heard from camp reports, I'm thrilled with our rookies.

Jenkins may turn out to be a star. So might Nelson. And Royal might never amount to anything.

I wish we'd find another WR, but the last thing I wanted them to do was reach for a WR when the scouts weren't high on him.

I agree. That was a big reason for many bad drafts in the late 90's as we were reaching for players to fill a position. We knew heading into the draft that CB, WR and RB were areas we needed to fill and one of the top CB was there for the taking as well as an outstanding RB. I have no complaints with this draft

Also, Royal wasn't a first round pick anyways, so how do you take over Royal over Jenkins???????

Go back and see how they ranked and it is not even close. Jenkins was always ranked in the top 20-25.
What does ranking have to do with talent?

Romo wasn't even "ranked".

I'm providing my own rank and that is that I think Royal will be a 1st round talent, thus he would have been worth a 1st round pick.

JMO.

I liked Royal a lot, and I think we were pretty high on him...

BUT...

I also live in Denver and it's not exactly like they have an all star cast at WR. Him moving up the depth chart in Denver is like McFadden moving up in Oakland. And who's to say that Green Bay didn't make the right choice with Nelson over Royal and Hardy?

I like Nelson. I think Welker open the door for those type receivers. I mean several teams are looking for the next Welker including Green Bay in drafting Nelson and I'm sure Welker's success last year had something to do with us grabbing Danny boy as an undrafted free agent.

No way.

Just pointing out the obvious exposure to VT.

Virginia is for lovers...
and Commanders haters.

I wouldn't want to be from anywhere else.

How else do you think I became a Cowboy fan?

Considering I grew up in Fort Worth, I think we should draft nothing but TCU. :laugh2:

Nah.
I have no allegiance to any Virginia schools. I was making a simple joke about the coincidence between my location and the school of my 2 favorite players in this year's draft.

I couldn't care less about what team a guy plays for in college.
