Edge could be a sneaky need?

-Started as an elite pass rushing team
-Once Quinn removed all the twists/stunts to help stop the run, the pass rush outside Parsons disappeared.
-Sam Williams wasn't the same player after his car crash
-Really struggled down the stretch getting to the QB
-It is quite possible, major transition coming in 2024, the likes of DLaw, Fowler, Armstrong could all be gone.

Dorance is a JAG. His numbers were completely inflated due to stunts, and after we stopped, he was irrelevant. Fowler is a stop gap and I think the team is likely looking to get out of Tanks contract soon.

That leaves Sam who has showed some promise and Parsons who splits time at LBr.

100% should take an Edge early.

Edge is not a need but you take a guy later if value fits.

Sam Williams was a really good RD2 player and barely got run.

The edge play didn't fall off last year, the CB did when CB2 and CB3 were both out for the year.
And if you can't stop the run a lick and you can't cover the pass rush isn't much of a weapon.

Dallas has so many edge players they keep trying to make then DT and wonder why we cant stop the run at all.

Dallas cuts edge players that get significant number of snaps elsewhere.

You never have too many edge players.

The strength of this draft is DEs/LBs. The safety class is weak, the cb class is mediocre.

Day 1 CB's are pretty strong. No Sauce but 5 guys that could be very good #1 CB's. After Forbes and Banks it really drops off a cliff. I wouldn't trust getting even a starting caliber CB on day 2

I think it’s just how different people evaluate the players. I think this is a great CB class and LB is weak. IMO, edge, TE, and RB’s are also strong. Even with that depth, I would grab the right edge or CB first if they were there.

I know you’re secretly hoping that Nolan Smith falls to 26.
He and Brian Branch are two players that I think could fall. Not from lack of talent but where do they fit in. How far they fall will probably determine a lot about what is available at 26.

Unless you are talking about day 1 starters, do you not think that Turner, Ringo, Brents, Smith, Stevenson, Rush have a strong chance to be NFL starters? I think there are even more. I would put 12-13CB’s in my top 100 prospects this year.
