This is why there are so many busts in the nfl because more and more emphasis is being placed on measurements and drills in spandex than with pads on the field playing the game. The combine is a joke if u ask me. Run in a straight line for 40 yrds because DEs and OT do that. Bench press 225 the most times as u can and risk a injury because we still dont know if ur strong enough, eventhough u play against 330lb lineman.
Willis was an outstanding player on the field. 21 sacks in the last two years.

For anybody that likes JPP they should like Taco. Taco was bigger but beat JPP in every single drill besides the 40 and the 10 yard split. Just sayin

I wish he had a highlight film to see these sacks. I watched some game tape on him and I don't see anything when I watch him. I want to see if they are coverage sacks/blitzes/tight end sacks, or if he's actually beating offensive tackles

I watched games where he dominated.

Charlton is a punishing finisher. Explosive off the line. Has moves but needs polish.

Michigan played a lot of tackle read and it did him no favors. Made him hesitant and he allowed plays right at him. Had some awareness issues outside of that on misdirection.

Charlton - plays with edge, explosive off the edge, plays both sides
Willis - quick off the snap, good balance and push through contact, limited moves but polished in what he does, didn't move much from strongside, best athlete
Harris - raw but productive, high upside
Lawson - stiff with average balance, strong at poa, moves around formation, lots of moves, limited upside
Tankersley - runs like Tarzan plays like Jane. doesn't make plays.

I rate Tankersley and Lawson as 2nd rounders. Would not pick either at our slot.

he can be had in round 2. But he plays SDE. Why IDK but there was a reason they didnt play him on the weakside

There are so many busts because people take physical ability onto consideration?

Both are part of the equation.

Former Youngstown State defensive end Derek Rivers left a lasting impression at the NFL Combine.

It figures to be remembered at the NFL Draft next month.

Among players at his position, Rivers earned four “top performer” grades during the drills – he was third with a 6.94-second clocking in the 3-cone drill, fourth with a 4.61 run in the 40-yard dash, tied for fourth with 30 reps in the 225-pound bench press and tied for fifth with a 35-inch vertical jump

Cowboys Draft: DE Derek Rivers Proves He Is Worth A First Round Pick

Youngstown State defensive end Derek Rivers is quickly becoming my favorite choice for the Dallas Cowboys first round pick of the 2017 NFL Draft.

At the 2017 NFL Scouting Combine, Rivers further cemented himself as a real prospect with a chance to be a solid professional player for a long time. Rivers, who finished the 2016 season with 14 sacks and 58 tackles, ran a 4.61 40 yard dash this weekend, fourth amongst defensive linemen.

While some have questions about Rivers’ power and game strength, his 30 bench press reps of 225 pounds was also the fourth highest for his position group.
