Eli Manning is growing into scary good, isn't he. Jerry needs to do something fast.

Uh, he did. THey traded for Henson before Bill's second year.

Uh yeahhhh....not that kind of FREAKIN change.

No more baseball players and people that have other careers they are interested in. No more retreaded players that you coached last century.

Im talking
Donovan McNabb
Dante Culpepper (down year but sorry coach and new offense)
Tom Brady
Michael Vick
Carson Palmer
Byron Leftwhich
Peyton Manning
Eli Manning
David Carr (jury still out but I would take em)

...Im sure you will counter with a list filled with the Akili Smith's of the world but there is no denying that when you draft a 1st round QB, and they work out, they really work out alot of the time.

Do people realize we are the only team in this freakin Division that has not drafted a QB in the 1st round in almost 20 years? Washington, Eagles and N.Y. Giants all have.

It is time to see the trend and just draft one in the 1st round and get it over with.

Tom Brady was a 6th round pick. He split time with Henson in college.

:shootfoot:

THe only other guy on that list we ever had a shot for was Leftwich, and quite frankly I wanted him too, but I think Bill agreed with Jerry to see what they had in Carter and HUtch that first year.

Or do you now want to start trading future #1 picks too to move up just to take a monstrous gamble on a QB?

It is the quarterback.

But I'm convinced the Cowboys can win with Drew Bledsoe.

He has a minimum of two good years left after this one. He hasn't lost any mobility (he never had it), he still has a tremendous arm and he has no history of concussions. I see no reason he can't play out his contract at a pretty high level.

the young defense will get better, a lot better over the next two years. Glenn has a few good years left, Crayton's okay and anyway receivers can be had in free agency or anywhere else. Peerless could be a good starter on this team, and Dallas got him for a song.

For this team, it's the offensive line, stupid. This line is starting to show its age and that's where next year's draft should be focused in my opinion.

Where else? Receiver? No way. It's pointless in my opinion to take a QB at the bottom of the first or second round, like Campbell or Ramsey. Those kind of players can be had, too, because their team's will probably give up on them before they get it together.

a qb like leinhart, I could get on board with. But it's just not possible.

I'm on board with bringing another young talented qb in here...however it has to be done (draft or trade). Bledsoe is playing really well right now, and deserves to continue playing unless the season really starts to tank bad. Even then, from what happened last year, I have my doubts Parcells will play Henson or Romo. But I do hope Henson gets a shot, I can't help but not like his talent. But bring in someone else and let them all compete. if Parcells really doesn't think he has it

I dont know, for some reason me and your are not on the same page :D .

I never proclaimed that we had a shot at either of those guys. I simply put that list together to show you how drafting a guy in the 1st round can do wonders for your franchise.

Heck, I wont even repeat myself cuz I already did the research and wrote an article about it .

Its the QB Stupid!!!

I am happy be with Bledsoe, but heck man, if we are going to go 6-10 like we did last year, I rather we do it with a young guy at QB getting some valuable playing time.

Gawd...I cant tell you how much I hated seeing Vinny still chunking it against the Skins (which he threw a game winner but so what) and Giants of the world when we were already out of contention.

Listen, last year I was convinced that Eli was a bust...he just looked so bad.

Anyway, the Giants did it right with starting him last year. We should have done the same thing with Drew. Drew would be in year two now and would have learned alot from last year. There is no way that this guy can't succeed. Just let him throw the damn ball and stop messing with his mechanics. No one has messed with the delivery of Phillips.

How sure are you about that? How do you know Henson will be an instant success?

Who is Phillips? If you are talking about Phillip Rivers for the Chargers, then you need to do some research, because tweaking his throwing motion was the first thing they talked about doing.

The season is not over.
