either way, it's a negative for Eli.
1. If it was him, he looks like a whiny little brat, and a moron.
2. If it was his dad, he looks like a whiny little brat, and a baby.
It's his career, whether he made the decision or he let his dad make the decision, it should still be him that gets criticized for it.
Yeah, I agree with this.
You know, at the time of the draft, I really thought Eli had a little something extra to him that Peyton lacked. While Peyton was the football-all-the-time guy, Eli's seemingly laid-back ways, I felt, could potentially add an element to his game that Peyton lacked: being cool down the stretch.
Peyton can get uptight and I didn't think Eli would -- assuming, of course, he was as dedicated as Peyton.
Looks like I couldn't have been more wrong.
Eli's just a bad quarterback right now. Plain and simple. He lacks leadership. He's bad down the stretch. He's inaccurate. He's inconsistent. He's turning the ball over.
Since about October 8, it's difficult to find a single redeeming quality about his play. Other than his name, of course.
I do think he'll get better. He's bound to. He can't be
this bad.
But I also think it's becoming evident he lacks components that he may never develop, which would worry me if I were a Giants fan.
Until something changes, which could happen, Eli's a quarterback that defenses will line up to play. It's just too easy for them right now. Heck, even Houston almost beat him.
I think some interesting points were raised in this thread whether his heart is really in the game. It doesn't seem to be at this point. Maybe the losing is getting to him, or maybe there's some deeper issues concerning his passion for the sport. I saw Giants fans even asking this same thing on some of their boards.
Heck, you'd probably be hard pressed to choose Eli over Jason Campbell at this point. Campbell, even in his occasional inconsistencies, has already shown some more redeeming qualities.
