Ellis at OLB

Isn't there an old saying about old dogs and tricks????

exactly what I was thinking, besides Ellis has averege speed for a DE, which is slow for a LB.

As an owner of a few old dogs I can assure you, that statement is not true.

Yeah, but the real question is, how quickly can they run around the yard once they get old. Same question would apply to this move with Ellis IMO.

Heck, I actually like the idea...espescially on 1st and 2nd against the run. Even on 3rd and 3-4 which could be run or pass.

I think BP was interested in doing that with Ek too before he left.

when i picture ellis at OLB i think of the 1st giant game in dallas last year..when he picked up the fumble and got caught by an offensive lineman??

Has anyone considered the possibility that maybe why the Cowboys have not gotten an outisde linebacker in free agency is because they are planning on starting Ellis opposite of Ware?

I think with his speed if Ellis could make the adjustment he could be a hell of a player at OLB. I would not mind seeing Ware, Adoyell, James, and Ellis lined up at LB.

Thoughts?

I have read articles about this move, and basically they said Ellis was to stiff to play OLB and would especially have trouble defending pass routes. :banghead:

if Ellis was ever a candidate to play OLB, he would have been practicing at OLB last year, the rumor has it that OLB seems to be the top target in the upcoming draft

I'm a big Greg Ellis fan, but no way do I see him playing OLB. He just doesn't have the speed or agility necessary to play the position. Teams would regulary single him out and attack him in the passing game. BAD IDEA......

He rush's the passer. Or covers a short zone.

Geg Ellis at OLB?

If this is an early April fools joke...:lmao2:

If you are serious, stop posting and seek professional help.:bang2:
