RB Washington Signed; Center Released

The Cowboys signed running back Chauncey Washington back from their practice squad Saturday morning. To make room for the second-year back they released center Duke Preston.

Washington was signed for special teams depth last Saturday with the Cowboys short at running back, and recorded one kickoff coverage tackle against Denver.

He was released Monday, the Cowboys hoping to re-sign safety Marvin White, who they had waived two days before to clear room for Washington. White was claimed by Detroit, however, and the Cowboys went through their preparations for Kansas City with only 52 on their roster.

Preston was signed by the Cowboys during the preseason when he was released by Green Bay. He played the first four seasons of his career in Buffalo.

The difference is Corey Procter also plays on special teams while the Duke did not.

Hopefully, we can get Preston back following the game because I like him better as a guard/center than Procter.
