there is big difference in 4-3 vs. 4-2-5 in a 3-4 defense. the gap responsibilities and where you line up is totally different. so Ellis was on the line in a 4-2-5, it could be any LB playing that position. doesn't mean they are in a 4-3 set up with him lining up on the outside shoulder of the tackle and inside shoulder of the TE with one hand down and the proper foot forward. the difference is in the subtle things that make the difference between the 3-4 and 4-3 and various formations of each scheme.
