Zeke Elliott presents a major problem to the Cowboys offense. Zeke can't run anymore, he's too slow for the game now. Duece n Malik are better at this time.
Sorry I know a lot of fans have moved on from Zeke bc he clearly isn't the same player. But this guy still put up 12 TDs each year the past two seasons in a row. You're trying to tell me Malik Davis can do that? Idk I just don't see it. Personally I'm content with using Hunter Luepke in that role if he pans out but I do think just relying on Pollard/Deuce could present some problems.

This fan base is seriously overvaluing 1 yard runs. Zeke wouldn't have 12 TDs if TP didn't set him up on the goalline because Zeke couldn't get them there, he was a dependent RB. Yes, I feel TP or Malik could give Dallas a high percentage of those short yardage TDs.

Arizona doesn’t want him?

{disclaimer: it killed me to see Emmitt play for the Cardinals}
My favorite play ever by any Cowboy was the hit Roy Williams put on Emmitt that brought him to tears after his trash comments.

After the 2023 NFL Draft, there is no more clarity about where Elliott’s next stop will be. However, his former running back coach Skip Peete said Elliot shouldn’t expect a big payday.

Peete coached Elliot for three seasons from 2020-2022 while on the Cowboys staff.

The Cowboys parted ways with Peete, along with five other coaches, after their loss to the San Francisco 49ers in the 2023 NFC Divisional Playoffs. Peete signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers later in the offseason.

Likely an unpopular opinion, BUT, at the right price I would sign him for 1 year (not much more than Vet min money, maybe with TD and rep incentives/bonuses) - have Zeke add a few pounds of muscle and be purely a short yardage, goal-line, and rare-situation back - almost like a FB. Say what you want but Zeke is excellent in pass protection and is pretty decent at short yardage/goal-line runs, and if you are actually well ahead in a game, he can be the garbage time, clock-eating back to take those extra bumps and bruising reps away from tiny Vaughn and injury recovering Pollard. I don't see a 1 year Zeke signing as holding back any developing RB's really and if he truly doesn't cut it in camp versus the depth guys, then cut him..... - He IS good in locker room (albeit not a real rah rah elevating leader - just a positive type guy - and our QB loves him....)....
Zeke tain’t worth what he was paid the last couple of years (really, not at anytime on that stupid contract extension). But he is worth more than league minimum; probably in the 3-4MM range.

I think the opposite on weight, he needs to shed some. He has the frame to withstand hits. Probably more so than Pollard.

I would be all for bringing him back at the right price as a complementary back, not the featured guy. He and Pollard have been a good tandem and I see no reason they couldn’t going forward. The question is whether his ego would allow. I think so because he’s never shown to be an egomaniac or diva.

The rookie minicamps are this month and a lot of the second year types are there too.

If no one can take the F/H pass pro role then they need to do something. I know that Ferg and Schoon have the footwork and anchor to do it in Y but that move F/H role is critical even if we have massively over-relied on it recently.
