Emotional extortion. Dak knows Jerry wants to win a SB really soon, his due date is looming. Dak saw the contracts that Zeke, Jaylon, and the Hot(whatevzz) guy got and he wants to get the same thing. He's playing chess with an old man that caves because he's rich, and Dak see's that.

He's hamstringing the team that he supposedly loved growing up. It seems that his 'goal' is money instead of taking a supposed team that he loves being the QB of to a 'Superbowl'.

That is not a 'team' player or a leader of men. Poor Jerry...if he caves in again...he will have a rich QB of the Cowboys, with trash at every other player on the team for years. Pay up Jerry, Dak is poor at the moment. Put them emotions aside. Give me some money, honey.

it is kind of funny that jerry will pay dak because he is so desperate for another super bowl and feels like he can’t “start over” again but signing dak to big money will virtually guarantee he’ll never get another ring...unless they just draft fantastically which is possible i guess.

Yes, poor JJ.

I say pay the man. He’s not doing anything different than anyone before him. He was the best quarterback in his draft class. I don’t begrudge Elliot or Jaylin their money. But those of the guys I wouldn’t have paid less someone else give it to them they deserve it but not on this team.

Lol everyone mad at Dak for wanting to get paid. Do we forget that he has been playing for 2 million over 4 years?

. So you want to pay the best quarterback in his draft class. That’s just sad We all know the guy that shouldn’t have gotten paid on this team.

Poor us. We have to watch and root for this train wreck. The NFL only allows him to spend so much money on players. Dak knows this and his agent is very aware of there salary cap. He will look to eat up as much as he can. Dak will let his agent do this. He said he is actively involved in the negotiations. If he isn’t careful then there won’t be a Cooper to throw it to. But at that point he is already paid so he won’t care.

“He’s not a leader of men because it’s time to pay him”

You didn't breathe once typing this, did you?!

FYI, Goff and Wentz have already been to Super Bowls. They were in the 2016 draft class.

And don't forget, Dak got the job by default when Romo and Moore got hurt. Its not like he earned the position.

That's because Mahomes plays for a real organization

That's true, but QB's are judged, unfairly or not, based on the team's performance. Dak struggled when it mattered most....to the point that he's not worth top 3 money....yet. Can he get there? I think he has the mindset and athletic ability for it. Personally I wouldn't bet 20% of the cap on him at the moment though. It really boils down to what he is really asking for.

He's very good for what he is. He's not currently the type of player that makes guys better around him. He's got plenty of talent and drive. There are only so many QB's that do make guys around them better. Maybe Dak can get there, but he's not there yet....so I feel what is best for the team is to tag him, regardless of what I believe he can do....assuming he'd play under a tag... Now if he's not asking for top 3 money, then heck yeah sign him.

Well using that argument...every quarterback struggled when it mattered most since Mahomes is the only one left standing.

Does Mahomes make guys around him better? Or does Andy Reid do that?

Except the Cowboys had multiple ways to secure the division...and failed each time. Not even a touchdown against an injury-riddled team with practice squad members on it.
It is what it is. Like I said, I think Dak is good enough and can get the job done, but only if he's not asking for too much because of his performance in key situations.

If you'd asked me after the first half of the season, I'd have said "SIGN HIM."

I want him to be a Cowboy for a long time, but not for 20% of the cap.... the team needs too much at other spots for that.

Lol!
Jones justing being around is more of a cause of no SB than Dak could ever be.
Get new meds...

When it mattered most, the guy in question had an injured throwing shoulder. The board pretty much agreed that it had have been worse than the organization let on.
