  • Yes he has a rocket arm(as he lets us know in one of his many commercials)
  • Yes he can audible real GREAT(if he were a Cowboy then they would create an excessive audiblizing rule) thats for another thread
  • Yes he has great WR's
No HE CANNOT play well when you pressure him and bust him up... he aint the almighty... he is a QB and he can lose and he will lose

I think he's at the point where the blitz doesn't even bother him that much. The Patriots threw every blitz in the book at him and he went 20-36, 326 yds, 2 TD, 1 INT.

Besides, it's not like we're gonna put any real pressure on him anyway..

EDIT - If I recall correctly, the Skins were blitzing him big time and beating him up real good as he actually got injured on a high/low hit where his back was bent back, and he just came back and went for 300+ and 4 TDs vs. them.

You know, I'm not completely convinced that you're wrong about that fact. If he were the Cowboys QB (which i wouldn't mind one bit) they might just have considered a rule like that!

As much as I want to believe the 'Boys will run all over him, there is this thing called reality.
Give the man his due.
He is not invincible but he's come the closest than anyone in the NFL this year.
He's a great QB. He'll be named in the same breath at Staubach, Montana, Bradshaw, Unitas etc.

Screw the posterboy. The guy hasn't won a big game going back to his college days when my gators owned him every year. If the game turns physical manning will fold. Both peyton and eli are pretty boys who choke when the stakes are at their highest. He's a great REGULAR SEASON QB nothing more.

yeah maybe, but he won't be mentioned with them if he keeps choking in the playoffs

I notice you didn't mention Marino . . . probably for the same reason Manning may NOT be mentioned in the same breath as those above.

Oh, he will win the big one one day.
But his time is getting shorter.
Romo on the other hand is just beginning.
And Romo, I bet, will one day be menioned in the same breath as Manning.

"He's a great regular season QB....blah, blah, blah, blah, blah..."

Guess what. This is a regular season game.

Your point?

Peyton has reached "You can't stop him - you can only hope to contain him" levels this year. People should talk about him nonstop. (His brother? no.)

If the Cowboys stop him, they'll talk about the Cowboys nonstop. :)

Count me amongst those who tire of hearing from all the Manning detractors. He is absolutely among the best in the game today if not the best. Period.

Maybe he's not the greatest ever, or even in that group. He hasn't won a championship. And for some he's over-hyped.

But no reasonable mind would exclude him from the list of the great QB's in the game today.

All QBs play poorly with constant pressure.....that is why we must find some pressure.

don't hate manning for the platitudes people throw his way. hate him because he and his colts are on the sched this sunday.

QBs like peyton manning come along rarely - superbowl or not. football is a team game and want of a ring didn't keep marino out of the hall. nor should it have. marino was amazing and peyton could very well break many of his records.

manning is a GREAT QB... and i hope he gets clobbered but good.

He cant play under pressure, yet his team is never out of a game and when it is on the line with 2 minutes left he almost always leads his down the field and gives them a shot at winning it. If that isnt playing under pressure what is? He might not of had the best TEAM in the playoffs but he is always in the game regardless.

Bill must have called Manning a "prolific" passer about 10 times at PC....

if memory serves me right... Marino was the last prolific passer... those guys dont win SB's.... they wont concede to the run

Thats not been the case this season. Teams have pressured him plenty, but he's still beat them.

Peyton is great, the greatest ever. He's achieved perfection this season and we will all see it after the Colts go undefeated.

This man is on a business this season. He heard a crap load of criticism this offseason and worked his butt off to improve on things that kept killing him.

Peyton Manning = greatness.
