Enough with the Receiving issues

I saw the clip in another thread where Dak threw a perfect ball to Simi, and Simi bobbled it and it got picked off. This was an issue last year with our receiving group. Dak had some bad balls last year, but there were also several occasions where Dak threw a catchable/excellent ball that was either dropped or picked. This is infuriating, and I'm tired of these receiving issues. The ball that Simi bobbled is one that a High School player should catch.

Frankly, if I were Mike, I'd have had enough with the receiving issues by now. If I were Mike after that, I'd have paused practice, called the receiving group to the middle and told all of the receivers on the bubble that the next time a perfectly thrown ball is on the ground or is intercepted, the player is cut. It's time to set a message that a perfectly thrown ball must be caught. It's time that our WRs start doing the basic job of a WR, which is to catch the football.

Who said Mike even has the power to cut a player like simi without owner approval? Mike has input not control of the roster.

The #DallasCowboys first day of training camp has concluded..

My immediate thoughts ⬇️

• Concerned about the Donovan Wilson injury
• Dak Prescott looked sharp
•The Cowboys starting WR core is 100x better than they were this time last year
• Good to see TJ Bass and others getting work at RG for the absent Zack Martin
• Mazi Smith is HUGE and EXPLOSIVE
• The battle for WR4 & WR5 is going to be tight
• Jake Ferguson might separate himself early as the clear TE1
• Stephen Gilmore is a breathe of fresh air at CB2 opposite Diggs
• Deuce Vaughn is electric

Simple solution. Receiver drops a catchable ball, and he had no excuse for dropping that one, he’s on the QB that throws perfect passes machine until he catches 50 in a row.

And the QB needs to stop trying to be Mr. Nice Guy and go Marino on any receiver dropping a ball like that.

Some players need to be reminded of what “just do your job” means.

Except when CD drops a pass. He gets a pass.

I
20 lashes to any of our WR who drop a Dak pass?
Are you happy PAPPY????
Man 1 dropped pass on the 1st day of Training Camp and you took the sauce and tried to excuse the inexcusable of what we have seen the last 7 years.
If you want to make the Dak lovers like you there are other ways than this most extreme and insignificant butter finger mistake by a 4th string WR.
the beating will continue until Daks fragile ego is improved

That's why I said the "on the bubble" portion. Obviously, Lamb won't get cut. But Simi or any of the bubble receivers, it may come to a point where Mike has to send a message and cut one of them on the spot to send a message.
Isn't that understood... It's the 1st day of practice... with a new offense... can we get the guys through orientation before you fire them Boss?

I watched the Inside Training Camp, or whatever it is called last night. It is on the Cowboys app, probably on you tube as well.
They showed that clip, and showed some accurate passes and caught by Tobert. Actually several caught by Tolbert. Those will be what the difference will be as to who makes the team or the depth chart.

Funny how other WR's were catching the ball for Dak. But the usuals would not post about that.

The WR position draws divas. Layer in the Cowboys culture and it’s no wonder this group has played like a low IQ unit for years. Think about it…Dez Bryant was a leader. Imagine that. I agree this group needs to be better. Block better. Run routes better. Sell routes better even when the ball isn’t coming their way. Play through the whistle better. Catch the ball better. The whole thing needs to be better.

That said don’t get too worked up over 1 camp int.

Clip and save the following. 1 or 2 WR’s are gonna get cut or stashed and picked up, that will end up having much more success than the slugs we let hang around…some for years…who are JAG’s with NOTHING significant to offer.
Do you like any player or WR?
I know you hate all WR's or so it seems.

Well, that means Simi is probably not making the roster.

That's good, but Simi's miss was a howler. I like to hear that Tolbert has gotten better. I think Simi is going to probably be cut anyway on cut day.

Simi has been here for a few years, and that was a ball that a HS player should catch. Granted, it was one pass, but it follows a trend that was concerning from last season.

I love WR's.....Michael Irvin is my favorite 90's Cowboy. I told y'all last August that our WR's were bottom 5 in the entire league, and nobody would listen....one person even called them top 5. :muttley: I like fearless above average reliable receivers and we have a great one in Lamb, and should have a decent one in Cooks...his ceiling here remains to be seen....the rest are all below average. Not sure why we even drafted Jalen Brooks or brought in some UDFA's, because they will not get a fair shot...we already know who will stick, and it's pathetic. We never churn out WR's.....what are we afraid of??? One or two of the WR's that get stashed and then picked up, will contribute more than the trash we end up keeping. Put that in three (3) inch high bold letters.
