Enough with the Receiving issues

Simple solution. Receiver drops a catchable ball, and he had no excuse for dropping that one, he’s on the QB that throws perfect passes machine until he catches 50 in a row.

And the QB needs to stop trying to be Mr. Nice Guy and go Marino on any receiver dropping a ball like that.

Some players need to be reminded of what “just do your job” means.
I was thinking more Aikman.

It's my opinion that if Dak is the "leader" people say he is, he would have jumped on him right then. Instead of talking about it to the press.

Now maybe he did later and we didn't see it. Cool.

A leader is more than butt slaps and new Nikes.

I saw the clip in another thread where Dak threw a perfect ball to Simi, and Simi bobbled it and it got picked off. This was an issue last year with our receiving group. Dak had some bad balls last year, but there were also several occasions where Dak threw a catchable/excellent ball that was either dropped or picked. This is infuriating, and I'm tired of these receiving issues. The ball that Simi bobbled is one that a High School player should catch.

Frankly, if I were Mike, I'd have had enough with the receiving issues by now. If I were Mike after that, I'd have paused practice, called the receiving group to the middle and told all of the receivers on the bubble that the next time a perfectly thrown ball is on the ground or is intercepted, the player is cut. It's time to set a message that a perfectly thrown ball must be caught. It's time that our WRs start doing the basic job of a WR, which is to catch the football.
Simil most likely not making the team anyway,,trust me the coaches are keeping score...icky he’s likely 6th on the death chart anyway,, worry if this is seen regularly from cooks, Gallup, or Lamb..or the TEs remember Hendershot....

I love WR's.....Michael Irvin is my favorite 90's Cowboy. I told y'all last August that our WR's were bottom 5 in the entire league, and nobody would listen....one person even called them top 5. :muttley: I like fearless above average reliable receivers and we have a great one in Lamb, and should have a decent one in Cooks...his ceiling here remains to be seen....the rest are all below average. Not sure why we even drafted Jalen Brooks or brought in some UDFA's, because they will not get a fair shot...we already know who will stick, and it's pathetic. We never churn out WR's.....what are we afraid of??? One or two of the WR's that get stashed and then picked up, will contribute more than the trash we end up keeping. Put that in three (3) inch high bold letters.
We don't know who will stick. Tolbert is looking good and Jalen Moreno Cropper had an outstanding 1st day.

If it makes you feel any better. Simi won’t be seeing many snaps this season unless there are a bunch of injuries.

He may not even make the team if he keeps dropping passes.
My not-very-bold prediction is the Simi Fehoko project will end and the David Durden project will begin.

Have you seen Durden’s RAS? He is a stupidly good athlete.

Compared to Fehoko -

It’s very possible. One factor is their contracts. This is fehokos 3rd season. He has to be significantly better to beat out rookies.

If a rookie is comparable and showing just as much potential, why not take the younger guy who is under contract longer?

Year 3 is make or break for guys like Fehoko.

They have to play STs coverages to beat out Fehoko. He's taking over Noah Brown's role.

Yeah. Sure that’s part of it. But special teams will only keep a guy like him around for so long.

Especially since he isn’t an elite special teams player. So again if the younger guys are comparable…. Including special teams. He could be toast.

That only happens in the movies, in the heads of frustrated fans and Jimmy Johnson, Bill Parcells coached teams.

It kept Noah Brown around 6 seasons. You underestimate his value to them. He is a coverage guy who also blocks in the run game. They value that role and got him to replace Brown. They drafted Jalen Brooks to possibly fill that role at some point as well. Notice the investment?

Yeah. They invested in another late round WR this year to continually churn the bottom of the roster. Which is why Fehoko could be on the bubble if the rookies are comparable.

I’m not saying he is gone and I’m not underestimating his contribution either.

I’m saying he is on the bubble and needs to show he is significantly better than the rookies. That includes special teams. There is nothing wrong about that statement.

If jalen brooks plays as well on special teams as Fehoko, then fehokos roster spot becomes pretty damn precarious.

That is a big over reaction on your part. Lamb could very well drop one and make you look really bad.
It's no overreaction it's why we lose playoff games because this group of receivers is soft and here's footsteps and drops the freaking ball.
Don't worry before it's all over CD will drop a ball and make himself look bad

That's why I said the "on the bubble" portion. Obviously, Lamb won't get cut. But Simi or any of the bubble receivers, it may come to a point where Mike has to send a message and cut one of them on the spot to send a message.
If I was Mike I would have been sending a message after that play he would have been running around the field till the end of practice in front of everybody for everybody to see this is what happens when you don't practice correctly.

Lol, they only catch hundreds of balls in practice each and every day. Tolbert amd Mareno Cropper have been very good so far.

From who the ball boy Dak doesn't throw each receiver hundreds of balls everyday in practice he'd be worn out
