Guys, I mostly browse without posting. But come on. Steve Smith had the same injury and missed more than two weeks. Take a breath, the media is just trying to stir things up by reporting on TO missing practice when there are others going through the same thing.

SPARTANBURG, S.C. -- All-Pro receiver Steve Smith returned to practice with the Carolina Panthers on Tuesday, more than two weeks after straining his left hamstring.

Smith, who practiced with the first-team during the morning session, had been out since pulling up with injury on a long passing route on the first day of training camp July 29. He's been riding a stationary bike and doing agility drills on the sidelines during practice.
It remained unclear if Smith will play in Saturday's preseason game at Jacksonville.
Smith led the NFL with 103 catches for 1,563 yards and 12 touchdowns last season in helping Carolina reach the NFC Championship Game.
Smith was the dominant option for the Panthers in the passing game, with no other receiver catching more than 25 passes. Carolina addressed that issue by signing veteran Keyshawn Johnson after he was released by Dallas.
Johnson had two catches for 27 yards in the Panthers' 14-13 win over Buffalo last weekend.

I think it's not so much the injury, it's how vague TO and the team have been about it. Something just SEEMS wrong.

It's well known that I can't stand TO, I was pretty vocal about it before he was signed... but I just find this "controversy" to be ridiculous...

For all his assorted and well-documented flaws, TO has always been about answering the bell... the guy lives to play, so I'm confident that he's doing what he feels like he needs to do in order to be ready to answer the opening bell...

So long as he's ready to start earning his paycheck come opening day, the rest is all just smoke and noise...

Some of the others have it right, there is an element in the media that is determined to make sure that TO is an ongoing story line all season long... every thing concerning him will be blown up all out of proportion... but so far at least, the team doesn't seem to be distracted by anything he's done...

And that's really all I care about... if he wants to play the black Lance Armstrong for a giggle, I just don't care... I mean, I find it as juvenile as Clinton Portis' schtick last year, but ultimately harmless...

I'm not really all that worried about any of the injuries to the wide receiver corps right now, because it looks as though Owens, Glenn and Crayton ought to be ready to go come opening day (barring further injury, of course)...

Isn't Anquan Boldin also out with the same injury? Or is he already back?

Welcome to the "T.O. Show" - coming to a theatre near you!

You know, if Owens read that, he probably thought that you should've put the 'Starring T.O.' part in much larger print.

When T.O. scores 3 tds and has 188 rec yds....we will all laugh about this...

Bear, I'm starting to think Crayton may be more injury prone than JJones. He played 8 games in 2004, and 11 last year. I think the Cowboys may be putting too much faith in him being available for the whole season. I don't know that the Cowboys can count on him being available in the event Glenn and/or Owens are out for any considerable period.

I hope Hurd can step it up and be the goto reserve, cause Copper doesn't look like he is that person.

Wide receiver is a very weak position with the current injuries sure to reappear sometime during the year.

you should post more often man..

Parcells better be careful with this and not overreact. The season is way too long to jeapordize a player like T.O. or create a media feeding frenzy when there is a legitimate injury.

Does anyone here follow baseball?

Robinson Cano, one of the best young players in baseball, strained, (not tore), his hamstring on June 26 and he didn't return to a MLB game until August 9. The guy was the starting 2B in the All-Star game and he missed it because of a STRAINED hamstring.

Read some comments below he made about his injury...

Cano was activated from the disabled list on Tuesday, starting at second base and batting seventh. The All-Star second baseman spent six weeks on the DL with a strained left hamstring, missing 34 games.

"I was surprised, because the doctor had told me it would be 10 days," Cano said of his lengthy rehab. "I missed it a lot, man. Especially when I was watching the games."

The hamstring problem marked the first time in Cano's short career that he has been injured, but he knew that rushing back would do little to help either him or his team.

"It was frustrating, but at the same time, I had to understand that I just had to get my work done [in Tampa] and get my treatment," Cano said. "There's always a first time. I just hope it doesn't happen again this year."

Cano said he hasn't felt any pain or discomfort in the hamstring area for "a couple of weeks," but he admitted that he still thinks about the injury when he runs hard.

"It's hard; I don't want to, but every time I have to run, I'm thinking about it," Cano said. "I felt good at the plate [during his rehab games]; I want to keep feeling the same way up here."

I have played football all my life - backyard style anyway, out of shape , in shape, did not matter and NEVER tweaked my hamstring.

Played softball here and there and that is the only place I have ever tweaked my Hamstring.

I think Baseball is a bit different - but that is just my experience.

It's also the constant media questions about TO's status and articles questioning his sincerity. I'm pretty sure the Carolina coverage of Smith was a little more unbiased and fair. Oh well, at least no one around here is buying into that.....right?

It's not the "injury" that bothers me, it's the fact that TO seems to be playing it up way too much and BP almost seems afraid to seriopusly address it publically

I've played football also, and played wide receiver. And I've told this story before but when I played for a semi pro team as a receiver, the funny thing is I tweaked my hamstring playing flag football during the week.
I know for a fact..
If you tweak a hamstring, the only true cure is rest, period. Everytime you think it's ready to go, bam! Tweaked again - And you can forget about running full speed with a hammy injury.
