Eric Berry

I know we signed Iloka, but why not give Berry a look..... Unless his contract demands are ridiculous let him dook it out with our current crop. I guess the other hold up would be health if they just hated what they saw when he came in for his visit.
Berry is done. Just stop already. Hasn't played in two years and requires surgery.

Wow. You don’t even need to watch the games then. Saved you some time.
You realize you can be a fan and still think the team is not SB bound, right.

Kinda like the Spurs, I knew before the season started there was no chance for them to win a title this year, too much turnover.

But I still watched and attended as many games as possible, even though I knew they had no shot.

And for the record, I was right. The Spurs lost game 7 to Denver and were eliminated from the playoffs last night.

Knowing they would not win a championship this year didn’t make me any less of a fan. Same thing with Cowboys.

D-line looks much improved which IMO was a bigger need than safety

They made right choice IMO and I think hill was target all along on our fan base which is sick of Heath feel like safety a bigger need

My solution cut his butt and move on and let’s see what we have elsewhere

I would take a chance on Berry on a low base high incentive deal

Having him healthy in January would be a difference maker

They have given Berry a look, and from what I read, that door isn't shut just yet.

If you spend anytime googling his name, you learn from doctors who've written about his injury that it truly isn't something that necessarily is better addressed through surgery. My impression is they... as-in all of the teams interested that he visited including us... just want to wait until training camp time to see where he's at at that point, rather than sign him now.

He's done and wants a payday. Dallas showed in the draft that they think they are not only already set at Saftey, but also really don't value the position very much after passing on multiple guys that could possibly have taken the secondary to another level. You might as well get used to having 3 average guys rotating in old man Marinelli's scheme

Because KC would have had to pay him dearly, and it was decided as good as he's been for them, there was a better value in the FA market, given the understood risk.

But you don’t KNOW they won’t win . If you KNOW it then please tell me the lottery numbers for this week. If we were the Cleveland Browns from several years ago you could make that statement but with a team that won a playoff game last year and hasn’t lost much of their roster?

Did you KNOW the Eagles would win the SB with their backup QB 2 years ago? Come on man .

And yes you can be a fan and think the team isn’t SB bound but when a team has proven they’re playoff caliber and still have all their key players you don’t KNOW they won’t . My 2 cents

He's missed 29 games the last 2 seasons, he's 30 years old, and he can't be relied upon at this point. Only a fool would "pay him dearly".

30 years old isn't terrible for a S, particularly one as accomplished as Berry... and if a person bothers to read the doctor's comments in the link above, it's pretty clear there's ample reason for hope.

But I agree, no one's paying him dearly, and I agree that he can't be relied upon at this point... but... if he makes progress over the off-season, he's going to be in someone's training camp, and likely on a incentive-laden deal that pays him good enough.

He was interviewed and I'm sure it's a question of medical. I don't know that for sure tho

I had Haglund’s deformity in my right heel in 2012 and then in my left 5 years later. Ended up with surgery both times. There’s no other way to get rid of the spur. It takes at least a year to recover and you’ll never be 100%. 90-95 at best.

I’d say that’s why Berry didn’t opt for surgery. He’s not getting any younger.
