Eric Bjornson

yea its LaFleur your thinking of. He was one Aikman worked out himself and told the team to get him.

Aikman was very good QB but the organization gave him way too much input into personnel decisions. IIRC he was on the "get me Joey Galloway" decision too.

He needed to stick to being QB and let the personnel people do their personnel thing. His attempts at a professional singing career were misguided as well.

Oklahoma Nights is a classic.

Bjornson got off to a decent start in Dallas. After backing up Novacek in 1995, he had 48 catches in 1996 and 47 in 1997. Those numbers are similar to what Novacek did in Dallas in most seasons and were second on the team each of those seasons. He fell apart after that.

Not surprising the guy had a sudden fall-off in catches.

In 98 Gailey came in and changed philosophy to a run-first offense. Aikman missed 5 games. Gailey probably wanted bigger blocking guys.

All things considered Bjornson had an above average career. Most tight-ends that are drafted never have +40 catches in a season. He wasn't a bust.

I remember play designs from Gailey that would have Ernie Mills as a blocker in the backfield. I disliked Gailey as a Cowboys coach.

Seriously, I shutter at the mentioning of some of these names. No disrespect to the players, but bad days. Bad days, indeed.

Edit: Shudder. The word is "shudder"! Just realized what a I typed. Lol/smdh.

By classic you mean horrible right?

In fairness, in terms of the structure and melody of the song itself, it's not substantially different from most pop songs. If they had had the auto tuning technology back in the 90s that they have now, imagine where Troy's music career could've gone.

Yep:laugh:

LaFleur had the back injury that hurt his career. Wasn't an Aikman fault and even when the Cowboys got Galloway, he blew out his knee. That Galloway with Seattle was pretty legit, multiple threat..

so funny story we are doing open enrollment for our company healthcare and we switched brokers. I see this name and I'm like hmmm. Well I'm walking out of the office for a meeting and as I'm walking out he comes walking out of the bathroom.

I say to him I know who you are, I was a big fan of his and thought he reminded me of Jay.

Anyways cool little story
Anyways is not a word.
