Just said that if Romo calls a better play than Garrett and gets great results that Garrett is more than happy to take all of the credit... This time it didn't work and he quickly threw him under the bus... You gotta take the good with the bad... If it wasn't for Romo (yes, I know he has plenty of flaws) we wouldn't even be in playoff contention in the first place...
Davis said he would never trust his coach again and I agree with him...

Pretty sure the little turd is going to get flushed end of the season.

maybe it' just wishful thinking on my part.

I don't think so.

As much as he might still want to, there's no way Jerry Jones can sell another year of Garrett to his consumers.

He may get this year, and next, but without some major overhaul and results on the D side the die is cast.

I can't see how he gets "next year", no way.

Are there actually that many people dumb enough to pay for another year of this?

I'd like to think that people are smarter than that.

Evidently, the # of Cowboy fans willing to shell out $$ for games is dwindling. The Packer contingent yesterday sounded just as loud if not louder than the Cowboy's fans.

Sadly, I agree with this.

Garrett is a booth guy, not a HC. He does not inspire.

At first I thought this team did not have the talent to compete but we saw them dominate the Pack for 30 minutes. I'm curious to know what the halftime speech was considering the Cowboys took the second half off. Maybe he told them to take the 2nd half off.

Garrett has headsets on. Tell Romo to pound it no matter what. How hard is that? Basically he said he had no part of anything. So why are you HC?

This is such a great point that doesn't get brought up enough. If Callahan deserves blame for play calling, Romo deserves blame for calling audibles, Kiffin deserves blame for the def scheme, what exactly is Garrett doing???
Managing the game?
If he's managing the game, could it be possible to do any worse than what he did? Is this the first time we've seen this from him? If no, what's the reason for keeping him around?

Yah well he learned that by being a bench warmer in his playing days.

Problem is he's now on the front lines of our coaching staff.

They are going to fire him, I don't think there's much doubt. IMO, horrible clock management cost the Detroit and GB games. I don't care that Romo changed the play, that shouldn't even be an option at that point. A strong, competent head coach emphasizes that in the headset during the call. What kind of offense sees a defense loaded to one side and doesn't have a run play to the other side anyway?

So the Cowboys will can this clown, but the biggest problem, The Jones family, still remains. It's a vicious cycle, I'm telling ya.

Garrett has absolutely no control and no way out....dodging this fiasco. He is over his head and its blatantly obvious and embarrassing. He made a coward move with the audible description.

I agree with this. The loss is on the coaches. It is the coaches job to remove the option of an audible. Tell them, "I don't care if they put 9 in the box, run the ball and do not change the play that we called!". If they pound the ball there is no chance for an INT.

This was unreal. It sounded like we were playing an away game, at least on TV anyway. But either way, Jerry has his money and he's a winner. Me personally, I would have been embarrassed with that "home field" crowd but it's not been mentioned anywhere in the media from what I've read.

We've seen over and over again why Jerry wanted Garrett. Jerry's a snake oil salesman. He sold us on a young, offensive mind, like Sean Payton and a HC who would understand discipline and accountability. Remember the stories about Wade finishing practice or going onto the next play even if the one they ran was done wrong? Then we heard stories of Garrett running plays in practice until they got it right? In reality, it's abundantly clear why Jerry wanted JG; he's a yes man who "understands" Jerry and his family and was willing to take a back seat and let Coach Jones front and center. Jerry gave injury reports, called out players, analyzed the previous game, spoke on playing time, commented on who would be calling plays, etc. It's gotten so bad that even Jerry's dolt offspring, Stephen, has gotten in on the act.

I mean, obviously I don't like Garrett and was never sold on him from the start. But this just still burns me up even the next day. I can't believe he so blatantly threw his QB under the bus like that -- the same QB who has saved his butt for his whole career here. If anything Garrett owes Romo millions of dollars. Hey Jason, let your old pupils Joey Harrington or Cleo Lemon run the team and see how your process works.
