Chris Berman said that he was talking to Eric Allen yesterday and Allen reported that this years Cowboys reminded him of the '91 team that went to the playoffs but was knocked out in the divisional round. Berman said and we all know what happened the next year and they went on a streak of dominance. Just FYI.

Well, I wouldn't put too much stock into what Allen said since he and Jonathan "WWE" Coachman were laughing at the team and admitedly talking loads of trash about them during commercial breaks following the game.

Now if we just had Jimmy, Aikman, Emmitt, Irvin, Haley, etc, etc.

Enough with this 91 ****. Do you not see the other dreamer 91 thread on the board?

Dallas also retooled significantly that off season bringing in Haley and Everett via trade and drafting Kevin Smith, Robert Jones, Jimmy Smith (though he never played), Darren Woodson and finally getting Chad Hennings from his service commitment.

So the point is moot if Dallas doesn't have a stellar draft or a sophomore skyrocket from thr 09 draft picks that by and large didn't play.

Good point Aikbach: it would take a haul of talent like that to get NEAR the level of that team: and still our oline sucks....so, it looks bleak. That's why I hope JJ does something bold....don't ask me what BTW.....

This is not 91 team and will not be. Cowboys are not young and talented at one key position unlike that team or young enough anyway. All of Cowboys OL is wrong side of 30 pretty much. One or two over 30 is good, but not all.

Free is the only bright spot. Unless the guys already on Team develop into quality OT, whoever that might be, and a Gaurd or two, I don't see the parallels at all.

DL is already there. Rest of the talent is good enough. But OL is just too way questionable right now for future.

I would settle for E Williams, Nate Newton and company. The offensive line has been the achilles of this team for over a decade now. A good offensive line can over come a lot of other deficiencies.

wow, your M.I.A. during a great fun stretch of winning.

and now you show up mocking something that was meant for unity and you are happy we lost because somehow in your little world you feel you are right.

Absolutely sorry.

Bye bye to you dude.

Agreed, its absurd. We will have a 30 year old QB, a 30+ year old oline, a 60 year old head coach. THIS ISNT 1991.

This team doesn't need to trade for Haley, they have Ware and Spencer.

But your point is well taken, the most obvious one is Wade Phillips. Despite is football pedigree, couldn't hold Jimmy Johnson's jockstrap.

It's hard to see it this way on such a dismal day, but the team that lost 34-3 today is still a very good team, with mediocre to below-average coaching. What a waste it will be if we all wake up in 2015 without a Superbowl, knowing the kind of talent we had from 2007 onward.
