There are a lot of tight ends who are basically king sized receiver out there these days.

exactly, and it was a better move on the defensive players side. Hardly a problem for another TE turned WR, thats happening a lot in teh league.

I wouldn't give up on him yet. He's easily our best te after witten. His tall, athletic, a great route runner and has great hands.

His first catch was definitely a touchdown. I am not sure how they were able to let the call on the field stand.

Well, Weeden is the QB for the next two months. Maybe he'll have a connection with Escobar.

I hope they don't give up on him like they did with Marty B. Escobar has never been relied upon like he will be now that we are short handed. Marty B is a pro bowler now. Imagine if he were still here with Witt. Passing game and running game would have been even better if he were still here.

All I'm saying is Gavin is still a developing player that needs time to bloom. I'll take the good with the bad until he matures a player. I hope his future is here with the Cowboys.

I am an Escobar fan and endorsed the pick. However I am coming to the realization that he will never be a complete starting TE in the league. He will be a red zone/ gadget specialist. My reasoning is the guy just isnt physical enough. On the fumble he got folded up like an accordion and the ball ripped by a DB. He needs to be trucking guys who are 50 pounds lighter, not getting trucked. I think he is really nothing more than a king size sized receiver and hopeful mismatch in most cases.

I learned long time ago that you find out about player on road in philly. Escobar is talented soft player. Best way I can describe it.

Soft as cotton... He should have scored and the fumble was pathetic.

Apparently, he needs to get used to securing the ball much better than he did when that happened. I don't have any problem with him coming up short of the goalline, however. Those things can happen to anyone. The fact that we didn't score after that occurred, though, was a sad reflection upon our OL and their performance now.
