These tie breakers are total nonsense. If two teams are in a tie for the lead, only the two games against each other should decide, who's in front. Points scored,away wins, whatever. But the way it is now it's rather random.

100% agree. The tiebreakers should come from the head to head matchup. W/L, point differential, total points scored in the head to head matchup. Using all these other tiebreakers doesn’t account for home/away against the better teams, injuries at the different times, weather when the games were played, etc. It gets down to record against common opponents and one team had most of those games at home or faced several backup QBs, then it’s not really a good measuring stick for a tiebreaker. Certainly not better to point differential in the h2h matchups.

Anyone who watches Sounds from the Sideline knows this is typical chatter before a game and maybe even tame. I prefer to see what they replace those words with in the video. Some choices are pretty funny.

So in football (soccer to you lot), the tie breaker comes down to goal difference. Team A has +50 goals scored v conceded whereas Team B is +25. Team A "wins" because it demonstrates they spanked teams in the season whereas Team B sneaked a pile of 1-0, 2-1 wins.

So with that simple, simple, simple formula, Dallas have a points differential of about 6 million this year whereas the Eagles win games by a whisker........we win!
