Just curious, did you read what the investigating officer was on record saying about the incident?

A female hotel employee who was the first to check it out told the officer that Clark told the female employee *I will punch you like I punched her", then shoulder checked her on the way out of the room. The gf wasn't drunk and she had visible marks on her. Clark was hammered. A hotel guest also observed the gf unconscious in the hotel room.

Yeah the charges were reduced (because the gf didn't want to pursue anything and the DA can't do anything in that instance), but it still sounds pretty bad.

This is in addition to a felony charge that he was able to get off his record through fulfilling probation previously. Meaning, the case wasn't dropped, it was basically a conviction, but he was allowed leniency due to some legislative act in that state.

I get what you guys are saying, and getting a guy that can really contribute to your football team is always a plus. But, the dude's kinda crazy, not in a good way.

If he is crazy, then I trust the team not to add him to the roster. I think the front office is very smart about this kind of thing. There are things that the general public doesn't know that the Cowboys will find out first hand, so if they do bring him in they would have not seen the same guy that we out here have.

To be clear, if the guy is just flat-out guilty of punching a woman and threatening to punch another, I do not want him on the team and neither will the front office. However, if there are circumstances that we don't know and the Cowboys feel like he can be salvaged, then I'm all for that too.

I hear you man, and you're probably right that he won't end up in Dallas.

I just like the lower round talented picks where the cost is minimal and the upside is great. I was also one who wanted to spend a 4th or 5th on Tyrann Mathieu because of his talent. Of course Dallas never brought him in for a visit and Arizona drafted him before I would have been willing to take him, so it was a moot point anyway.

It is interesting to note though that the Cowboys did bring in Clark for a visit after his charges had been reduced down to the smalles misdemeanor that you can have.

I can hear Dale Hansen now...

Don't disagree with his ability BUT.....

He already has TWO domestic violence offenses already. Let just say JJ hires a baby sitter full time so he doesn't get in trouble for 1-2 years maybe. Hard to baby sit during off season....Let's say he has success which bring money and women.....do you pay him or just let him walk...because I don't think you can trust a guy who's got that type of history with boat load of money.

I'll pass and let someone else deal with his problems.

Might have to agree with you. I'm all for reclamation projects and giving players a second chance (I was shouting to resign McClain) but some risks are just not worth taking. I don't know too much about this guy's history, but from the things I've read in here, I don't think he's something I'd take a risk on, even for a 7th. And I'm all for Hardy. I've read enough about Hardy's character and how he's a great teammate that I can overlook one incident. But this guy just sounds like a bully and a degenerate.

Marijuana use is different than violence/crimes especially for repeat offenders. You want to do harm to yourself go right ahead but when it involved another human being that's the line in the sand. I am all for second chances but that also depends on severity of the 1st offense.

I am not happy that the Cowboys even brought him in for a look see. Maybe a smoke screen. I sure hope so. I like the team captains and leaders who lives and breaths football. NFL are full of talented players.....the one that last are the one who has heart which the combine can never measure.

I'm usually the type of fan who couldn't care less about off the field issues as long as a player can help the team.

But after reading some articles, the guy sounds like a trash human being with no redeeming qualities. I read the domestic violence article and was disgusted. If it weren't for football this dude would probably be in a 6 x 8 cell somewhere.

The Cowboys hired a company to help them with the mental makeup evaluations at the request of Garrett a few years ago. They have expertise in evaluating athletes to see if they are likely to have problems in the future. Their "guess" will be much better than ours.

The team always knows better.

I'm for it if they do, against it if they don't.

Go Cowboys.

To be honest with you, I don't care much about off field stuff as long as the player is eligible to play the games.

I'd rather win with low lifes than lose with role models. This is football. Keep the life lessons out of it.

Just put it in his contract that the only woman he can date is Ronda Rousey.
