News on Barber

I just spoke with a member of the Cowboys' medical staff who said that running back Marion Barber is doing much better than he was at this point last week. Since the Cowboys decided to play him against the Giants last Sunday, it's a pretty safe assumption he'll play tonight.
As Ed Werder reminded me in a phone conversation 30 minutes ago, Barber has only managed 34 yards on his last 18 carries. I expect Barber to start the game, but rookie Tashard Choice will receiver the bulk of the work.
Tony Romo (back) will start the game and he's feeling much better. That said, the Cowboys can't afford to let the Ravens take a lot of shots at him.

I expect to see Choice used a TON on screens tonight.

And the Raven's defense can be passed on.

Using Choice on screens against the Ravens is exactly the right remedy for their passrush. Once we get them second-guessing then we can really exploit them on the deep passes.

Romo just needs to be patient and smart with the ball and not try to win the game all by himself.

The Ravens prolific pass rush, which has produced 31 sacks on the year.

Yea Choice on screens is dangerous.. We killed the Steelers and Giants with them. He doesn't have that Felix Jones speed and quickness but he makes up for it with his great vision.

Suggs and Ngata are both terrific at rushing the passer, and both will most likely give us fits tonight.

Ummm Ngata is not a good pass rusher. He is just good at eating up the run and taking up space for guys like Suggs and Scott to get to the QB

He was getting quite a bit of pressure when I watched him last week. Maybe "pass rusher" is the wrong word for it, but he's pretty good at collapsing the pocket and making his presence felt in the backfield.

Sounds just like another great running back that once played for Dallas...

Now Mosely and Werder are certainly two mediots whose evaluations of the Cowboys are always on the mark and full of credibility. Not!
