Great news!:star:

Cowboys resign Colombo to two-year, $7M dealBy John Clayton

A week after the Cowboys paid more than $49 million to add Leonard Davis to the right side of their defensive line, the Cowboys filled out the rest of the right side by re-signing right tackle Marc Colombo.

Colombo received a two-year, $7 million deal that included a $4 million signing bonus. The Jets were among other teams pursuing the former Bears No. 1 draft choice, but Colombo opted to stay with the Cowboys.

With Colombo under contract, Davis can now concentrate on playing right guard. Columbo's re-signing was considered a top priority of Cowboys owner Jerry Jones. He re-signed center Andre Gurode before the start of free agency and then added Davis last week. The return of Colombo ends any uncertainty about the offensive line.

I'm glad that is done and glad that Jerry held tight on the offer. Hopefully Colombo can put together another solid season then maybe they can talk bigger money down the road.

No wonder we paid so much for Davis, he's playing both ways. :D

I am feeling good about our line.

I'm not going to be like the idiot homer Commanders fans and go ga-ga over every signing and act like it is the move that makes us Super Bowl bound. But I do like this move.

I feel good about heading into the season with a line consisting of Adams, Kosier, Gurode, Davis, Columbo. If Columbo can improve on his play last season (which is a question mark), then we are looking good. I think Davis at RG is going to be an improvement over Rivera. At the very least, we won't have our RG getting pushed backwards into the QB anymore.
