We didn't get to see Covington on the field, but I read nothing but rave reviews about his athleticism, and I've never thought the same about Wilson. Hopefully, a year of NFL coaching has brought Covington's mental acumen up to his physical skills and he will be ready to compete or start at SLB in 2019.

On paper he’s a similar athlete to Wilson, which is to say he’s not exceptional. That said, he has some upside as a player because he switched positions while in college from QB to LB.

Covington
6’-2” 245 lbs
4.78 40-yard
1.63 10-yard split
23 bench
33.5” vertical*
9’-8” broad jump*
7.02 3-cone*

*Taken from his Pro Day due to him not completing a full workout at the Combine

Wilson

4.77 40-yard
1.65 10-yard split
22 bench
37” vertical
