it takes a man to do that...it allows romo to know that hes serious about converting his opportunities.....dont be surprised by an early TD to roy williams tis week.....I see a monster game coming from bro
It's refreshing to hear a guy say "It's my fault' not "it's the coaches" or "it's the quarterback" and basically point a finger everywhere else but at himself.

I think it speaks to his character as a man and the kind of player Dallas has. He may not be making catches, but he's not going to throw the team under the bus, especially not right now.

I hope he does figure things out and steps up.

He scored early last week. Very early. That really didn't change anything. Same old Roy the rest of the game.

Whatever, just catch the damn ball.

How has he been a "weasel"?

He just hasnt put it together here the way many thought he would, He's had some untimely drops, but watching him during games his effort has been solid and he doesnt sulk or complain about anything. Havent seen him accusing Witten or others of making up "secret plays" or any garbage like that.
No but he sure as hell accused Romo of throwing better passes to other receivers.

That's the first step, even if it took this long.

Theo, that's what I've been waiting for - the recognition that he was the problem and that he needed to get better. I felt the situation was utterly hopeless until he realized that he needed to change. Whether he can change is a different issue and I'd be happy to give him another season to prove himself because he should be able to regain his 2006 form when he put up monster numbers. He is young and has had no major injuries so there is no reason for his physical skills to have declined.

Good luck, RW.

Because it was true. He never said their lack of timing was all Romo fault but it does not take a genius to know that early on many of those passes were well off target in comparison to other WR.

Again that is not just Romo but the combination of the 2 and part of what he said at that time was how he and Tony would be spending more time after practice to work that out. Which they did

This has not been an issue as of late the timing is there and the balls are being thrown in a good spot for RW he has to make the play and Roy acknowledges that with what he has said .

"You know I have to get the confidence of my quarterback, because I didn't get a look after the first half," Williams said. "I didn't get a look in the second half. That's telling me that my quarterback has lost confidence in me, and so has the coordinator as far as calling plays for me.

Just not really sure why he feels the need to say things like this.

I just wish he would just make a plain vanilla statement such as, "I just need to play better".

He doesn't need to get into specifics like this. Now the media will just mosey along to Tony Romo's locker and ask him if he didn't throw the ball to Roy Williams because he lost confidence in him.

We don't need to know the light got in your eyes

We don't need to know you think your QB has lost confidence in you

We don't need to know you feel you must get 251 yards to show up Miles Austin

We don't need to know you feel you have the best hands in the NFL

We don't need to know that you only get 3-4 passes a game

And we don't need to be reminded that you went to Texas every time you do an interview

Like Sarge said, just catch the ball.

Those who want Roy cut may get their wish... Just heard where he semi-criticized the JerryTron today.
What did he say about it, CLab?

Good for him.

I still think he could be a big part of the offense and really help us be better offensively. Hopefully it starts this weekend and continues in the postseason.

With as much attention as teams are going to give Austin and Witten, if RW steps up and makes some plays our offense would take the next step IMO.

I agree David.

Despite my criticism of Roy Williams, I really believe he is going to help us in the Playoffs.

Teams are going to pay attention to Miles Austin and Roy Williams "should" be right there to make him play.

and romo DID!

high, behind, short to williams and right in stride to austin, witten and even crayton.

williams problems are definately NOT all romo's fault, but romo does deserve some of the blame.

I'm digging the Saul Tigh avatars, Maikeru-sama. Can't wait for the one.

Sounds like someone gave it straight to him.

He needs to be on special teams and not taking snaps away from a better WR.

this could be a huge moment for the Cowboys going into this game IF he takes the next step.

IMO, part of his problem was that he's been desperately wanting to live up to the contract he signed and have been trying to be superman, trying to be " the #1 guy ", when he doesn't have to be.

I've said it before: this " #1 receiver ", " #2 receiver " garbage is just that, garbage.

The Cowboys have a possesion type receiver ( RW ) who's best at moving the chains and catching TDs in the red zone, ocassionaly breaking a big play. They have a big play receiver ( MA ) who's best at stretching the field, wether it's on bombs or just 10 yards catches that are turned into 60 yards TDs. They have a slot receiver ( Patrick Crayton ) who's excellent at going over the middle of the field and catching key 3rd down passes. And they have 2 complementary receivers who are good special team players and could produce ( if need to ) at any moment's notice. That's the way the team should approach them as a group ( and probably are ) and how the game plans should be designed.

This " #1 / #2 receiver " myth, where the " #1 guy " needs to get this many passes, etc..etc.. that's been hyped up by the media ( and fans have parrot ) over the past few years, has completely change the perception of what receivers are and/or should do.
