ESPN: Cowboys' Williams stops blame game

I don't think you can limit him to just those 2 routes. He has done great in his career on the skinny post, if you recall after the TB game it was Kitna saying that RW runs that route better than anyone. What ever the issue with RW is right now he needs to work through this and get it going.

...well you'd prefer him to not be limited to ANY route, because that makes the Dallas offense tougher to defend...there's not much danger radiating from Roy right now but he can still make an important contribution, red-zone notwithstanding, in the playoffs...i wish him luck and long sessions with the Juggs...

You guys don't find it funny that Roy has this "awakening" I think the Pro bowl receiver on the other side, who is due a big payday, has him scared.I don't think you can pay 2 receivers big money so we should keep the one that produces.I could be way off base and I hope he starts to produce but it was just a thought.

I agree, I would think it would make defending him too easy. However, I do think they could be the bread and butter of his package of plays and maybe Romo could look to him more often in sideline and back of end zone situations (basically like Jimmy suggested) while peppering in routes like you suggested to keep the defense honest and then hope he can keep his head and make the catch

Limiting routes is probably the wrong word to use but I do think you can setup 3 or 4 routes that RW likes to run or I should say is comfortable with.

"He has caught only 44.7 percent of the passes thrown to him, which is the sixth-worst percentage among receivers who have been targeted at least 50 times."

Wait, there's 6 receivers that have been worse than him??? They must really suck.

He will receive more opportunities to make plays, big or small, for this offense.

Changing opinions???

Now that's a totally different story.

Yeah, that's what I mean...In order to change opinions he will have to come up clutch for us in a big way...Lucky for him, the playoffs are a perfect chance for him to do just that! He's right though, he'll need to re-earn Romo's trust by catching passes that are thrown to him first and he needs to take advantage of those limited opportunities starting now; if he hopes to be counted on for a big play when the game is on the line!

Have we seen the skinny post since Denver knocked him out of the game?

Williams' opportunity to change opinions within the team is one thing. His ability to change the opinions of those outside the team is another thing entirely.

He's only saying this because he's run out of every possible excuse.

RW is good on the right kind of routes....which are few

Garrett should look back at Detroit film and see how he was used. He has never been able to run digs with consistency. If he can use his hands better, he would be great on outs and slants...just gotta do it consistently like he said.

Those who want Roy cut may get their wish... Just heard where he semi-criticized the JerryTron today.

On that note, people can make fun of that all they want but.....

When I was sitting at the Dallas Washington game and trying to watch replays on their pitiful video screen 200 yards away, I was thinking about the Cowboys screen:laugh2: :laugh2:

Lets go Roy.

He's finally manning up and buying into this team's new attitude about accountability.

If he can become the receiver he has the potential to be, this team will be unstoppable in the playoffs.
