ESPN destroying our defense this morning

The whole crew calling our defense soft and over-rated. 2 games, 1 sack in 72 drop backs in two weeks vs two of the worst OLs. Can’t stop the run inside or outside. Can’t cover on the outside. No chance at a SB with that soft defense, and they clarified that soft doesn’t mean they aren’t physical or sticking their heads in there, but mentally and emotionally soft. Not getting the job done or taking over games when given leads.

Dak was held accountable for the first INT, trying to do too much on 2nd and 18, but overall they think he played a very good game and is definitely not soft.

Moore got blasted for the 3rd down play at the end when his play call had 3 guys running fly and no one underneath, no Ceedee coming across the field. They called it a lazy play call with no situational awareness giving Dak no option but throwing low percentage pass on 3rd down.

Brown had to make that final 3rd down catch in overtime, no excuses. Ball where it was supposed to be.

Micah should have been commenting on Trevor Lawrence, not Hurts during the week.

If this defense doesn’t step up after the way they are being talked about, then it’s just hopeless.

I approve this message. One of the few times a concur with ESPN's "Analysts".

Yet. Some here put the entire loss on Dak. LOL.

This is spot on by the way. And I hate ESPN but they nailed every point here. That 3rd down play call had me scratching my head. This is the second time this team has had a double digit lead and the defense gave it up. Its inexcusable and Quinn better fix it.

The end result of that game falls on the offense. Forced fumble and all the offense needed to do was force Jacksonville to burn a timeout. Which means run the ball keep the clock ticking. What do these geniuses do? They have Dak under throw a pass to Noah brown which leads to an incompletion that stops the clock - preserves the Jags timeout. Yea somehow it's all on the defense.

LOL. I just face palm when people say this kind of stuff. Are you blaming Moore or Dak here? And absolving a defense that got gashed both thru the air and on the ground all game long. You do realize the Cowboys were leading this game and had 3 early TDs right?

Rightfully so. They completely blew it yesterday and are the reason we lost.

They’ve had a good year but I don’t trust them in the playoffs against a good team.

I guess LVE and Anthony Brown covered up more sins than we thought they did. Missed 'em both yesterday.

Agreed…I never understood all the hate on Anthony Brown. He played solid last year with the exception of the Raiders game last year. He made some plays this year as well, but has also given up some. But when you’re playing with Diggs on the other side you are going to see more than action. I think we all may have a greater appreciation for Brown after experiencing Joseph and Wright playing CB. Those dudes are going to get lit over the next three-weeks.

I think 9 teams won this week with 24 points or fewer. Maybe 4 won with 21 or fewer.
We lose to the Jags with 34 offensive points, yet We punted more times than the Jags.

Dak helped their comeback trying to do too much on that first INT instead of throwing it away.
Moore probably should have run the ball and forced Jags to use final TO, but definitely not call a pass play with no under route or even an outlet, just 3 guys running deep.

BUT….that’s all nitpicking a single situation that may have contributed to the loss. This was the Jags, and we had no defensive response or accountability all game long. A defense that gives up a 14 and 17 point lead twice in the game and can’t get a stop when the other team takes over at their own 30 with 1:12 left and 1 timeout against a team that IS not going to the playoffs is just pathetic.

I’m not going to blame Micah the way others like to blame 1 guy when the TEAM loses, but he’s a young guy, and maybe he needs to cut back on the podcasts and interviews and focus on his opponent more.

Did ESPN hire tad Prescott and somehow I missed it?

Your rundown of their analysis makes dak seem like an afterthought in this latest embarrassing loss

I am blaming the offense as a whole. That unit did nothing and I do mean nothing for most of the second half of that game. Any chances they were given by the defense were squandered but yea It's the defense that is to blame. Here is a hint, you can't just turn things off in the middle of a game take it easy and just lean on the defense. If this is complimentary football where exactly is the offense pulling its weight?

this board is chock full of dipsticks. Dak is not without blame but some of thes picks are not his fault. The first one yesterday was. This board has just about reached unbearable points with all the scholars here.
