I hope like hell Dez is the main punt returner in the playoffs.

Anything is better than Lucky ... and this is a guy who grew up with Lucky and is personal friends with him

I think Dez is a good WR and im glad we have him. Is he elite, idk, anyone can make any case if they try hard enough. I think there are a few better than him, but i dont know if thats system or desperate teams. I would still send Denver a flower basket for passing on him. I just dont know if hes as elite as the rest of the pack, thats opinion, not fact.

The problem that IS and HAS been with Dez and his numbers, Look at the passes thrown his way compared to Odell, Brown, Julio and Green. I guarantee you it's half the passes those guys get.

Very well considered OP, there, Trouty -- Dez is definitely enjoying a resurgence of his dominant ways this season. It excites me to see him return to his ultra-productive ways at this fairly advanced stage of his career. Here's hoping his newfound durability keeps serving him well.

I'm thinking he has a high chance of aging like Fitz, he is showing a willingness to put in work on route running. These strength/power WR's age differently than the OBJ/Ginn/Jackson's of the NFL, who rely on speed to be productive.

If Dez expands his route tree, keeps training and wants to eat success, we will have a productive receiver into his thirties. His skill set is easier to maintain than the aforementioned, who's skill set declines as father-time takes hold.

It's very impressive what Dez has done considering he "can't run routes" "he just runs go patterns" "he isn't elite" "he's a diva". Just a few of the things said about the guy.

Love me some 88 this team is a better team when Dez is healthy.

I still have some of some of the same complaints about how we use Dez.

I wish we would just simply get the ball in his hands more. We've never taken advantage of of his immense RAC ability.

Also, I want him worked into punt return duties for the playoffs.

He's a great punt return guy and every play in the playoffs matters.
This is my feeling too. I've never understood why we don't send him on more slants and deep ins. When they use him like that, he's absolutely elite. And I disagree with those who say he can't run those routes properly, the 22 says something different to me.

It's weird to say a guy who had 4 catches in his last game is "breaking out". Dez's entire season stat line looks like a good 3 game stretch for Antonio Brown.

Lucky is good, and he's a better option than Dez, or Beas, or McFadden, Dunbar et al.

Not to mention the ludicrous idea of placing our number 1 at the highly dangerous PR position. Just, Imho.

It's also quite possible he could end the season with 1000 yards 55-60 catches and 10tds.

I'd consider that pretty awesome since he missed 3 games, wasn't healthy and didn't have chemistry with Dak.

I'd say he's pretty elite myself. But I'm just a guy who posts on a message board what do I know?

Lol

You're becoming increasingly more grating. Sad, too, as you were a favorite poster of mine for a time being.

To the second half, we have a rook at the helm that isn't forcing it. Give it time, 50...

The great thing is, he doesn't have to be "elite", whatever that means. He just needs to play within the system and be "productive" depending on the opponent (ex. Washington as compared to Minnesota) so we can continue to win week in and week out.

He's the main threat there and he has a guy name Big Ben that's been in the league a long time throwing him the ball.

There should be no explanation needed

Apparently to our dim-witted fan base, many explanations are needed. He had 4 catches. He's not "breaking out"... he's underutilized.

I would agree he is very underutilized and I feel like it's by design. I do think he is going to play an even larger role come playoffs

Oh no brother I'm with you!

Just saying people expect gaudy eye popping stats for Dez. When in comparison he gets 4 catches on 5 passes. Where a guy like Brown gets 9 catches on 15 targets. So they will have better numbers.

Unless he puts together 4 more seasons of 1200 plus yards and 12 + TDs, don't think he's even considered for the hall
