Apparently to our dim-witted fan base, many explanations are needed. He had 4 catches. He's not "breaking out"... he's underutilized.

Breaking out relative to scheme, opportunity and slow start. He's averaging nearly 90 yds and a td the past month, and again that's including two one yard line stops.

Stop arguing semantics. The point is clear

I don't know that Dez is underutilized. The offense right now has a lot of weapons, and they all have considerable utility. Between Elliott and the QB runs and the emergence of Beasely, there are fewer snaps going to Dez and Witten. But that's a good thing.

I've never understood Dez' media portrayal. It's always been completely at odds with his personality. The fans who see Dez's regularly or hear his teammates talk about him ought to know better. Somehow they don't.

As for the HoF at this point, it's a stretch. Ring of Honor is a shoe in for the all time DC TD receptions leader. If the team really does start winning championships, that HoF take could change, but not until the way our offense distributes the football right now.

I still have some of some of the same complaints about how we use Dez.

I wish we would just simply get the ball in his hands more. We've never taken advantage of of his immense RAC ability.

Also, I want him worked into punt return duties for the playoffs.

He's a great punt return guy and every play in the playoffs matters.
I would love to see more slants and crossing routes to dez

I think Dez is a good WR and im glad we have him. Is he elite, idk, anyone can make any case if they try hard enough. I think there are a few better than him, but i dont know if thats system or desperate teams. I would still send Denver a flower basket for passing on him. I just dont know if hes as elite as the rest of the pack, thats opinion, not fact.

He's most definitely elite in some of his skills.

The great thing is, he doesn't have to be "elite", whatever that means. He just needs to play within the system and be "productive" depending on the opponent (ex. Washington as compared to Minnesota) so we can continue to win week in and week out.

exactly right and everyone has a different opinion. Thats going to happen. Much like the debate, does SB wins make a QB HoF worthy? OK Dan Marino says hi. which is all true. Stats arent always going to win you games nor a trip to the HoF but so many go off them. Its all up to debate.

This is true, i feel more confident he can wrestle the ball away from most defenders, and i feel he can run with the best, but some games i see a no name CB can hang with him too. For whatever reason, maybe the team doesnt use him properly, who knows, but there are games i am saying "wheres Dez to swing this in our favor"

No one here has broached the very last part of the OP...

Possible path to the HoF for 88?
I think it's very possible. Irvin is in and Bullet Bob Hayes is in. Dez has the numbers but now he needs the ring which he will get this year. So after this year I think he is a lock. He was a scoring machine until he got hurt. In per game average Dez scores

Are we dimwits in your eyes, Kazuya? Because we love Dez?
Most Cowboys fans are dimwits because they are blind homers who aren't capable of truly assessing what is happening on the field. Probably because they are going by Clove's play by play.
Dez is great. Dez is awesome. Everyone loves Dez. Dez with 4 catches in a game where the safeties are mucking up the run game is bad.

Dez Bryant is so much like Michael Irvin and most elite receivers. He is okay with limited productivity so long as the team wins.

We rarely see the great things he doea that will not end up on a stat sheet. Often, he takes two defenders with him, making it easier for the running game or other receivers. He is a prolific blocker. He feeds off the excitement of his two rookie teammates.

We are seeing the tip of the iceberg. Just wait until Dak and Dez becomes more familiar with each other....like around playoff time?

Dez...Dak....Zeke.....Zack.....LOL, America's Team or the Klingon Empire's team?

Anyway, Dez just needs to stay healthy and keep doing what he is doing and he will get to the Hall of Fame. Of course, a ring or two..or three would greatly benefit.

Dez Bryant, Super Bowl MVP?
