I added a poll to the thread because it is interesting.

Michael Smith is the guy I am most interested in listening to on Draft day. Why? Because last year he was dialed in. Everything he said happened.

About a week ago on NFL Live he said Jared Allen to the Vikings was a certaintly.

ESPN because of him if for no other reason.

First, I just got NFL Network in January, and i added all sports package last week, they said i have comcast, but not sure how that works. If someone can tell me, would greatly be appreciated.

So, what I am going to do is this. Record both NFL Network and Espn both on my direct tv recorder. I will then record them both later to my DVD-VCR recorder to go back over and view all.

I will have my previous channel on my remote to switch back and forth to try and see big cowboys news. I will have the tv mostly turned down and I will have TheTicket turned on my computer. (And of course when cowboys news comes on the tv i will turn it up to listen and back down when cowboys news goes off on tv).

Along with visiting other cowboy sites boards like cowboyszone and www.cowboys.scout.com for more news.

Then, I now have my own war room set up, with about 9 poster boards up, with my 5 nfl draft magazines, my online subscription to the sporting news war room, and all of the about 300 pages of draft picks on paper that i have printed out on my wall. My own cowboys mock draft, nfl mock draft, top 200 players, sleeper picks, etc.

I like listening to theTicket , especially Norm, they give more coverage about the picks, and sometimes the goose (Rich Gooselin) will be on, and you can hear him give more details on the cowboys picks, etc. I willl also visit my buddy Smoaky on www.ktbb.com for cowboy news, he gives good coverage on the cowboys in east texas. If no one is unaware of him, he is on channel 6 on cable from 4- to about 7 pm, he has nate newton, cowboy coaches, etc on now and then too. Best i remember last year, he had jeff ireland on once as well as head coaches and jerry jones on his tv radio show.

I have been gearing up now for a month for this draft, GO COWBOYS!

I FEEL THIS YEAR IS OUR YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!

THAT THIS WILL BE THE FINAL PIECE DRAFT THIS YEAR IF DONE RIGHT TO PROPEL US TO THE SUPERBOWL AND WIN IT.

A guy posted on a previous post about what chad hennings had to say about jimmy johnson, to me, thats what is missing with our team, a kick you in the b..., dominant, aggressive, assertive, confident coach like Jimmy Johnson, here is what was posted below.

thanks skinsscalper, im chomping at the bit for the draft to start now,

but also praying to the Lord, that he guides Jerry Jones and our draft personnel to make this the best draft since the hershel walker trade and picks,

we need this draft to be a super draft, at least come away by the end of the year, with 3-4 starters and all other draft choices, free agents our contributors.

With our 2 # 1 picks
our # 2 pick
our # 3 pick

that should be 4 starters or good backups too, like a rb to spell barber

possibly trade one of our # 1 picks and pick up an extra 3rd and 4th.

Needs this year are RB, CB, WR, backup FB, big huge NT (i dont care what wade phillips says, you need a huge NT in a 3-4 to dominate, if you remember the quick small NTs that buffalo had, we beat them twice, because they had a small NT, quck like wade phillips liked.

A big time punt returner, i think pacman does that though; and a big time special teams demon to replace keith davis, remember we got hurt on special teams when keith davis was out of the lineup for a few games;

Possibly a TE too, not real fond of Favaro. Jury still out on Carpenter. Get all of that and super bowl here we come!!!!!!!!

I just got NFL network prior to last season.
I watched the replay of the first day of the draft a couple of weeks ago on NFL network after watching only ESPN before.
One thing I noticed about the NFL network coverage...they actually talk about who the other team is going to pick during thier 15 minutes to make the pick.
ESPN is so busy shuttling the viewer to 5 different spots during the 15 minutes talking about the pick just made that you never hear anything about the pick coming up unless there is breaking news of a trade coming thru.
Throw in the fact that Berman constantly throws in comments about his favorite teams (San Fran & Buffalo) and I have grown tired of his act after 5 minutes.
Another thing I liked about the NFL network was that they had more live video coverage of the Cowboys war room and they noticed that Dallas was celebrating before the Eagles were even on the clock to pick last year.
When the team before the Eagles made the pick the NFL crew was shocked that Dallas did not trade with them. Then when the Eagles were on the clock everone on thier set finally realized that Dallas had traded with the Eagles.
Deion's reaction was priceless...He criticized the Eagirls for trading within the division.
One negative...the ESPN guys were more tuned in to what players the teams were probably going to pick than the NFL network was.
But don't think that the crew on ESPN TV knows all of that...they have a huge research crew working behind the scenes feeding them info during the broadcast.

To be honest, I don't think we'll come away with a single starter in this draft (atleast this year). The good news is we don't have to.

I think Deon Anderson just might be the special teams ace to replace Davis. Watkins was actually pretty decent on coverage teams, also. I think Zbikowski would he a killer on STs, also. I just don't think Dallas will draft him.

I wouldn't mind a decent clogger in the middle. I really like Laws from ND, but I don't think he has the bulk to man the NT of a 3-4. Love the kid's motor though.

Peyton Hillis may be find his way into our draft and create some real competition at the FB spot. You can bet that Garrett would find every way possible to use his skills.

Honestly the two guys I REALLY want us to end up with are deep in the draft: Ikegwanu (sp?) and Monk. I think these two guys could be future cornerstones on our team and come at a relatively low price. I think Monk can be had in the 4th (which I think Jones will recoup in a trade down) and if Ikegwanu is available with our 6th I jump on it in a heartbeat. Sign him put him on IR and see what he's gtot next year. The odds of a 6th round pick making THIS team isn't high anyway. A one year gamble on a guy that was the consenus #1 CB in the NCAA before last season started is worth a shot IMHO.

To be honest, I don't think we have to draft to replace Fasano. I was pleased with Curtis last year and wouldn't mind seeing him get more opportunities. He seems like a better blocker than Fasano and seems more likely to slip out into the pattern unnoticed than Fasano.
