ESPN- Giants target Capers

Grantham would be a good choice IMO if for no other reason than that he seemed to be a "Wade hire" last year.

But with Spears and Ratliff having their best years, I almost wish he could stay at D-line coach.

I wish we could get a Pagano or Manusky or someone who worked with Wade before... But there may not be a guy like that out there.
Wade has been in the league 30 years, I think he can find a ton of people he's previously worked with besides those two guys.

Well, he didn't last year when we needed a DL, DB, and LB coach...

I guess I was thinking of the people he liked at SD when he came here. Too bad Singletary kept Manusky -- I like him.

does it matter? Herring did a good job with the LB's, both Ware and James had their best seasons ever, I think Burnett did too...Spears and Ratliff had their best yrs with Grantham as DL coach, so did Bowen...Campo was probably the most handicapped of the bunch because of the injuries to Newman and the safeties, but he had Scandrick and Jenkins both playing extremely well.

Ultimately it doesnt matter who they hire as asst coaches, they arnt the issue here.

Maybe because they had jobs already?

Similar to when Parcells came on board. Most of his old coaches had jobs.

It's a minor hire, but he did snag the new Coach Joe after he became available. Their history dates back to Atlanta.

Grantham's connection is through Stewart.

Don't think Herring had a connection to Wade, but I don't expect him to stay anyway if the OKST rumors are proven true.

Campo is most definitely a non-Wade hire, but I don't think it was a bad hire considering the secondary play this past season.

I thought about it, and it didn't make sense.

Just say what you're thinking. That Osi would be a 34 end? And Tuck would be a DE?

No what I am saying is that given the history of everything that it should be obvious to everyone that you would start your two best pass rushers at OLB or the bookends. Given their respective weights ie they're not 300 lbers it should be that much more obvious.

You were wondering where they would put them.

So is Osi going to be an OLB now?

Hello?

You posted all that with that attitude just to say you thought they'd be linebackers in a 34?

Damn.

I'm trying to figure why Capers would not be our DC now, unless Wade wants to keep control of our defense. Capers was so close to just being apart of our staff last time that I see no reason he cannot be now that Stewart is gone.
